“I have no problem with that,” Lillian said immediately. “If my divorce can bring in viewers, then at least it will have been good for something.”
Rebecca slammed her hand on the desk. “Then let’s do it! I’ll have the marketing team put together a full branding package for you.”
Lillian’s first two streams had very few viewers. The three of them put their heads together.
“Let’s just use the inside story of my divorce as bait now,” Lillian suggested. “We can tell the story first to build up a following.”
Rebecca immediately put the plan into action. As expected, people were hungry for high-society gossip. In a single day, Lillian’s follower count jumped by three hundred thousand.
“It’s true what they say,” Rebecca sighed. “Gossip is a fundamental human need.”
But to their surprise, just as the tell-all stream was about to begin, the channel was banned.
“Don’t panic,” Jessica said into the phone to Rebecca. “It has to be the Brown family.”
“The platform is run by idiots!” Rebecca cursed. “There are a million gossip channels out there that don’t get banned. Are they trying to make it obvious they were bribed?”
Just then, Jessica’s other line rang. It was Lance. “Hold on, I’m getting another call.”
She switched over. “What?”
“I saw your stream got shut down,” Lance said, his voice low. “Do you need help?”
Jessica frowned. “You can help?”
“It’s simple,” he said, his tone lightening. “But I have a condition. You have to come to The Kensington for dinner tonight.”
Jessica was about to hang up.
“Quick, let’s go see!” Jessica exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across her face.

At the Brown Estate, Willie Brown’s face was dark. “Isabella, didn’t you say you were friends with the wife of the streaming platform’s owner? How is it that the stream was back up in less than five minutes?”
Isabella Charles looked uncomfortable. The person she knew wasn’t the owner’s wife, but his mistress. Clearly, this was beyond the mistress’s influence. “Willie, the greater the criticism, the greater the praise. This is just a bump in the road. Don’t let it get to you.”
“That’s not what you said yesterday.”
“Look at it this way,” Isabella said smoothly. “Since the divorce, you haven’t said a single bad word about Lillian, while she’s using your private life to advance her own career. It’s clear who has the better character. Compared to her, you’re on a completely different level. You really shouldn't stoop to her level.”
Willie’s expression seemed to soften slightly.
