On the Ruins of His Regret I Soar novel Chapter 292

“I’m spending the day with you.”

“Okay. Why didn’t Mommy Catherine come play with me today?”

“She has work to do, too. Amy, do you want to see your mommy?”

Amy stopped playing with the sand. “Mommy Catherine?”

Lance gently squeezed her soft cheek. “No, your real mommy.”

Instantly, Amy’s face clouded over with anger. She flung a handful of sand at him. “No! She’s not my mommy! Mommy Catherine is my only mommy. Daddy, why don’t you and Mommy Catherine get married? Then we could all live together, and I could see her every day! I love Mommy Catherine the most!”

Lance said nothing.

Just then, Susan Lane descended the stairs. “What are you saying? When your mother was pregnant with you, she was sick for months. She threw up so much she was coughing up blood. Amy, you can like other people, but you must never forget that your mother is the person who loves you most in this world.”

Amy turned away angrily. “I don’t want to talk to you. I’m going to play by myself.”

Susan instructed the nanny, Karen, to follow her, then turned to Lance. “The day you finalize the divorce is in two days. Have you made up your mind?”

Lance’s throat felt tight. “Grandma, I’m not sure.”

“Not sure means you don’t want to,” Susan said knowingly. “And if you don’t want to, it means you still have feelings for Jessica. Lance, it’s been two months. How have you not sorted out your feelings yet?”

Isabella let out a cold laugh. “Today, I am not Mrs. Brown. I’m not here with any title. I’m here as myself, as Catherine’s mother, to demand justice for my daughter!”

“Justice? In our home?” Susan asked, amused. “Pray tell, how exactly have we wronged your daughter?”

Isabella’s gaze landed on Lance. “And to think I once thought you were a decent man. I never imagined you’d be too cowardly to own up to what you’ve done!”

Lance frowned but remained silent.

Catherine, red-faced with humiliation, tugged at her mother’s arm. “Mom, please stop. Let’s go home. I can explain everything, I promise. Please, I’m begging you, don’t do this to me…”
