He told me to make sure you all have a great time tonight and left me his card. Order whatever you want.”

Melissa Gates sidled up to her on the sofa. “Well, look at you, already managing Lance Smith’s finances.”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Catherine said with a playful pout.

“It’s only a matter of time,” Melissa said with a hum. “You and Mr. Smith were always meant to be. If it weren’t for Jessica, you two would have been married years ago.”

Catherine sighed dramatically. “It’s all up to fate.”

“Don’t worry,” Melissa assured her. “I guarantee you, within six months, the title of Mrs. Smith will be yours again.”

Catherine simply smiled.
