Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 137

Yvonne had only wanted to clear up any misunderstandings between them. She hadn’t expected that, after her explanation, Marico’s gaze would become even more intense—those dark, fathomless eyes boring into her, making her heart pound faster and her breath come quicker.

Maybe she really was overthinking things.

While she was still trying to figure out what he was thinking, Marico let out a low, deep chuckle. The sound was so rich and smooth that Yvonne’s ears went hot and red just hearing it.

“So, what you’re saying is—you’re worried about me? Afraid I’ll get taken advantage of?” Marico pulled her even closer, until she was pressed softly against his chest.

Yvonne’s face turned scarlet. She averted her eyes, feeling as if she might melt right into those deep, dark eyes of his. Her head was spinning, but Marico didn’t let her escape; he leaned in, closing the distance even more. “Answer me.”

Trapped by his embrace, Yvonne had nowhere to hide. She managed a shy, barely audible, “Yeah.”

Marico’s lips curled up in satisfaction. Hearing her answer, his mood visibly brightened. “Don’t worry. The only one who can get the better of me is you. No one else even comes close.”

With that, he scooped her right off the table. Yvonne let out a soft gasp as her body grew weightless, instinctively looping her arms around his neck and wrapping her legs around his waist, clinging tight as if she might fall.

“But… but she seemed really impressive,” Yvonne mumbled into his shoulder, her voice barely more than a whisper.

Marico just smiled, carrying her into the master bedroom without missing a beat. “No one’s more impressive than me, especially at night. You don’t need to worry.”

He nudged the door closed with his foot and gently set her down on the big bed. “Stay with me tonight.”

“Okay.” Yvonne curled up beside him, snuggling close.

Marico just gave a lazy, contented hum. Fresh from sleep, his hair fell softly across his forehead, giving him an uncharacteristically gentle look. Honestly, he was handsome no matter how many times she looked at him.

Yvonne squeezed her eyes shut, hoping to block out the spell his looks cast on her. “Come on, we need to get up or we’ll be late.”

“Alright,” Marico agreed, getting up without protest at her words.

Yvonne headed to the office early, still wrapped in the warmth and happiness of the new closeness between her and Marico.
