Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 168

"Alright, Mrs. Hamilton, just tell me what you need," Marico replied without hesitation.

In the kitchen, he and his wife worked together in perfect sync, moving around each other like they’d been doing this for years.

From the living room, Grandma Hamilton and Edith kept sneaking glances their way, their eyes full of surprise—and unmistakable delight.

"He's never set foot in the kitchen before," Grandma Hamilton whispered, unable to hide her beaming smile. "Looks like we’re in for a treat tonight."

If this wasn’t love, she didn’t know what was.

She felt a little guilty for ever doubting that their relationship might be just for show. Clearly, she’d been worrying for nothing.

"Mr. Hamilton really takes care of her," Jessica remarked as she brewed a pot of tea, her voice gentle and sincere. She caught Mrs. Hamilton’s eye and offered a warm, genuine smile—one that looked every bit like a heartfelt blessing.

But beneath the surface, things were not quite as they seemed. As soon as Jessica finished speaking, she picked up a freshly poured cup of tea and carried it over to Mrs. Hamilton.

A few drops of scalding tea slipped from the bottom of the cup, landing right on Coco, the little dog nestled in Mrs. Hamilton’s lap.

Coco let out a sharp yelp, startled. In a panic, the dog wriggled free and knocked the teacup clean out of Jessica’s hands.

With quick reflexes, Jessica angled the cup toward herself, ensuring not a single drop splashed onto Mrs. Hamilton.

"Ouch!" Jessica cried out in pain as hot tea spilled down her blouse.

"Dr. Moore, are you alright?" Edith rushed over, helping Jessica pull the soaked fabric away from her skin so it wouldn’t burn.

"I’m fine, really. Is Coco okay?" Jessica didn’t even glance at the steaming stain spreading across her clothes; her eyes were only for the little dog now hiding behind the sofa.

"Someone check on her, make sure she’s not hurt," Grandma Hamilton said, clearly caught off guard by the commotion. She called out, "Yvonne, sweetheart, please find Dr. Moore something dry to change into."

Yvonne and Marico, hearing the noise from the kitchen, hurried in.

"Of course," Marico answered coolly.

Jessica’s lovely face brightened with a soft smile. "Thank you, Mr. Hamilton."

She turned and headed toward the stairs, pausing when she saw Yvonne standing there, her smile suddenly radiant—almost triumphant. There was nothing frail or pitiful about her now; in her eyes, Yvonne caught a glint of pride, something not nearly as innocent as Jessica liked to appear.

Yvonne knew she wasn’t imagining it.

"There’s a guest bathroom on the main floor, no need to go upstairs," Marico’s deep, commanding voice cut through the moment, causing Jessica’s steps to falter.

"Down here?" Jessica’s composure slipped for just a second as she looked back at Marico, searching his face.

He nodded and pointed her in the right direction.
