Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 170

"Where did it get burned? Let me see. I'll have William go buy some ointment."

Marico knew how much Yvonne cared for the little dog, and seeing the worry in her eyes, he stepped forward and gently parted Coco’s fur to check the burn.

Coco seemed terrified of Marico and burrowed deeper into Yvonne’s arms.

Yvonne soothed Coco in a soft voice, “It’s all right, sweetheart. You’re okay.”

For once, Marico set aside his usual aversion to mess and held Coco steady in Yvonne’s lap, examining the burn. “Looks like it really is a burn.”

Coco trembled in Yvonne’s embrace, whimpering as it tried to bury itself even further into her.

Yvonne’s heart ached for her little dog.

She couldn’t believe that even in her own home, Coco could end up getting hurt.

“Grandma, I’m going to hire a couple more aides to look after you. Next time, if something as simple as pouring tea ends up burning Dr. Moore again, it’s just not worth it,” Marico said, his tone carrying a hint of chill.

No sooner had Marico finished speaking than Jessica emerged from the bedroom, having changed into clean clothes.

She overheard his words, her face flushing with embarrassment. “I’m so sorry, that was my fault. I startled Grandma Hamilton as well, but thankfully she’s all right—otherwise, I’d be entirely to blame.” Jessica apologized again, lowering herself and taking all the responsibility.

“It’s not a big deal, Dr. Moore. No need to blame yourself. You got hurt too, didn’t you? Are you sure you’re not burned? If you’d like, we can take you to see a doctor,” Yvonne said, cradling Coco as she comforted Jessica.

Being the hostess, she naturally had to show proper hospitality.

“No need. It’s nothing serious. A little food and comfort will do the trick,” Yvonne said as she knelt on the floor, gently stroking Coco’s soft fur.

Jessica crouched down beside her, a faint smile on her lips. “Mrs. Hamilton, you and Mr. Hamilton have been married for a while, right? How come you two never went public? I haven’t even seen your wedding photos. Are you two really married?”

Yvonne couldn’t help but think how Jessica really had no sense of boundaries.

Sensing the tension, Jessica quickly added, “Please don’t be upset—I’m just curious. I heard you were an employee at Mr. Hamilton’s company. People say you’re not a good match, that it won’t end well. Maybe it’s better to let go early before you get hurt. A man like Mr. Hamilton… he’s not someone you can handle.”

Yvonne just smiled.

So this heiress from a family of doctors was this interested in someone else’s husband, was she?
