Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 35

“Hey, you’re up early.”

“I went to bed early last night, so I woke up early too. Breakfast is ready—do you want to eat first, or get dressed and then have breakfast?”

“I’m going to take a shower.”

“Okay. I tried making coffee, but I messed it up. It’s burnt.”

Marico glanced at the coffee beans—she’d used over half the bag.

It was obvious she’d really tried.

“I don’t usually drink coffee unless I’m working.”

“Really? I always thought high-powered CEOs like you needed coffee every morning to get going.” Yvonne immediately dropped the subject, dumping the five or six mugs of burnt coffee down the sink.

There was no saving them.

“I’ll practice and learn to make it properly next time.”

Marico gave a wry smile.

But as Yvonne’s lively hazel eyes found his, his smile faded and he headed upstairs.

There was an easy harmony between them—almost like partners in crime.

Yvonne liked the feeling. It was light, comfortable.

She set out all the breakfast dishes on the table, then, while Marico was still upstairs, quickly snapped a few photos of the spread for herself.

They ate together in a warm, relaxed silence. Afterward, as Yvonne stood to clear the table, Marico stopped her. “Don’t. Someone will come by later to clean up. If you want breakfast, I’ll have the chef make it for you.”

“What? Wasn’t it good?” Yvonne paused, glancing at the empty plates. She looked up at him, wide-eyed and innocent.

Marico adjusted his cufflinks, looking straight into Yvonne’s eyes as he spoke. “It was great. But you don’t need to go out of your way for me, and you definitely don’t have to feel guilty. Do what makes you happy—that’s my responsibility as a husband now.”

His words sent a jolt through her. She met his deep, calm gaze—so steady, so certain that it made her believe him without question.

Her life had felt stagnant for so long, like a still pond. And now, suddenly, someone had tossed a stone in, sending ripples everywhere.

The shock, the gentle waves—it all left Yvonne deeply moved. For a moment, she felt respected and cherished, almost as if she were someone special.
