Oops I Banged the CEO novel Chapter 65

“Um, could you help me get the crate down? I’m worried if I just set it on the ground, the puppy might run off.”

Yvonne glanced at William, a bit embarrassed.

The puppy was so tiny, and with that hurt paw, she hadn’t even put a leash on her.

“Of course.” William helped unload the puppy supplies from the trunk and carried them to the back entrance of the house.

He even took the time, very gentlemanly, to assemble the crate and lay everything out neatly.

“Thank you, really. I can handle the rest—don’t let me keep you,” Yvonne said, not wanting to trouble him any further. After placing Coco inside the crate, she quickly organized the food and the bedding she’d bought.

“Be good, little one. Stay here for now, okay? I have to go make dinner,” she told Coco.

“Ma’am… Mr. Hamilton is very particular about cleanliness. I’ve already ordered dinner, so why don’t you freshen up and join him for the meal?” William said politely, with a gentle reminder in his tone.

“Oh, alright. Thank you so much.” Yvonne was genuinely grateful.

She definitely needed to shower and change—her clothes would have to go straight to the laundry. If she upset the boss, things wouldn’t end well.

She bent down and stroked Coco’s soft fur again. “Be good, sweetie. I’ll come see you later.”

Coco sat quietly, tail wagging furiously.

She seemed calm enough, but as soon as Yvonne walked away, she began to whimper and bark.

“Woof! Woo-woof!”

The unfamiliar surroundings made the little dog anxious.

Her sharp barks echoed clearly through the quiet house.

He wore a charcoal plaid robe, loosely tied at the waist. His short black hair, still damp, fell casually over his forehead.

Compared to his buttoned-up, businesslike demeanor at the office, he seemed much more relaxed now—softer, even.

He looked far less intimidating than he had back in the garage.

“Um… I forgot to tell you earlier. I just felt sorry for her—she was so little and alone. After playing with her for a bit, I couldn’t help myself and brought her home,” Yvonne said quietly, approaching him.

Marico’s dark eyes met hers, his expression stern enough to silence her instantly.

Yvonne, who had just started to relax, immediately tensed up again under his gaze. She dropped her eyes, puffing out her cheeks with a silent breath, anxious and restless.

She really had crossed one of his boundaries.
