When Jane returned, her cheeks still carried a blush of desire, but her heart was pounding with fear.

Seeing Ariana sitting in the living room, her expression became somewhat uneasy.

"Sister, you were looking for me?"

Ariana turned to look at Jane and noticed the reddened cheeks and a hint of disarray. Suppressing the urge to laugh, she pretended to show concern and asked knowingly.

"Where have you been? The butler told me you were back but I couldn't find you so I asked him to look for you."

Upon seeing Ariana's state, Jane thought she must not have known anything and breathed a sigh of relief.

However, the thought of her affair with Vincent being interrupted and Vincent getting angry made her harbor more resentment towards Ariana.

Seeing that she didn't reply, Ariana was a little surprised. "Did the police give you a hard time? That doesn't seem right. They should handle things fairly!"

Jane's temper flared at the mention of the matter.

Even though the police had no concrete evidence to accuse her of bribing those scoundrels to throw rotten eggs at Ariana, she also had no proof to show that she had been threatened into transferring the money.

She had thought she would avoid the whole thing, but to her surprise, they had found out about a car tryst she had with Vincent, on a roadside in the outskirts, half a month ago.

Even though the surveillance footage was a little blurry, it was clear what they were doing.

At the time, the police looked at her with contempt and imposed a fine per the traffic law.

She had spent quite a bit of money to have the video deleted, otherwise, the matter could get even more complicated in the future.
