Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 116

When Lillian heard that, she saw Annie as her only hope and immediately cried out, "Ms. Steward, you can't just turn your back on me!"

She broke down in tears. "Didn't you say you were upset that Ms. Monroe had misunderstood you leaking her pregnancy news and wanted to teach her a lesson?

"You secretly gave me a bag of almond powder and told me to spread it over the gown for ten thousand dollars! I-I did exactly as you said!"

She was crying so hard that she could barely catch her breath. "Now that things have gotten out of hand, I can't keep it a secret any longer! You should just come clean now!"

Annie let out a laugh when she heard such outrageous claims.

"You're saying that I asked you to do it. Then tell me—where exactly did I give you the almond powder? Do you have any proof that it was me?"

Lillian froze noticeably, a flicker of panic crossing her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure and said, "Y-You sent it to me anonymously!"

She frantically fished her phone out of her pocket, her hands shaking so much she almost dropped it a few times. She held her phone up, shoving the screen in everyone's faces. "Look. This is the message I got that day!"

On the screen was a text from an anonymous number, clearly showing the handover time and location.

Annie skimmed through the messages, her gaze settling on the last message. With a slightly raised eyebrow, she murmured the words aloud. "My name is Annie Steward?"

For someone to hire another to do their dirty work, only to throw them under the bus in the end, was far too suspicious. This was clearly a setup to incriminate her.

At her words, Amelia's eyes widened. She snatched the phone to read the text again.

She quickly turned her head toward Nicholas. "Mr. Warner, look! This isn't evidence at all! This is clearly a setup to frame her!"
