Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 70

When Maeve heard Annie speak, her body stiffened. It was barely noticeable.

She looked at the woman before her. Beneath that seemingly calm facade, the carefully hidden grief was painfully genuine.

"You're trying to protect a career at its peak and this child at the same time. It must be exhausting," Annie said, averting her gaze.

She continued, "You're at the height of your career. If news of an out-of-wedlock pregnancy breaks at this moment, the damage would be devastating. This woman no longer seemed like someone unscrupulously chasing an order, but someone who understood her entire situation—someone who could be an ally.

After a long silence, she finally spoke. "I'll consider it." Then, the two women stepped out of the cafe, one after the other.

Just as they reached the entrance, a hurried figure came rushing toward them. It was Amelia.

The moment she saw Annie standing beside Maeve, her expression darkened instantly, and she strode toward them with heavy steps.

"Annie! Why are you still haunting the premises?" she said, her voice sharp with fury. She assumed that Annie was continuing her unwelcome pursuit. "I've already made it very clear. We're not—"
