"So, how was the business summit?" Max asked, taking a seat on one of the couch in Bryce's office. He had arrived here earlier to see him when he learnt that he was back in town.

"It went well." Bryce answered, flipping through the files on the desk as he stacked them on top of the other. Taking off his glasses, he placed it at a corner and pulled away from the table, rising to his feet.

"These business summits are always life draining so it takes all the fun away from it." He added, walking towards the mini bar to grab a bottle of non alcoholic wine and two glasses.

"That's the thing. They weren't supposed to be fun or it won't be business." Max said, taking the glass that Bryce was offering while he opened up the wine to fill it up.

Bryce placed the bottle on one of the mini table next to him and took a seat opposite one of the couch, facing Max.

"Besides," Max continued, "It's not like before when you had to entertain yourself or do something else to keep yourself busy at work so next time, I advice that you go with Hera. It'll be less stressful and more fun."

"Hera likes the comfort of home and I want whatever she does to be on her own terms so until then, I guess I'll have to suffer this torture all by myself."

He sighed, "Anyway, what brings you here?"

"I just came to welcome you back. I haven't seen you ever since you got back so I thought I should drop by and say hello." He answered, taking another swig of his drink.

"So how is the project with Christina coming along? Hope you didn't encounter any problems?"

Max titled his head to a side as if lost in thought. "Not really. It's going pretty well and Christina is really fun to work with. Honestly, I'm having a lot of fun doing this."

"That reminds me," Bryce interrupts "Thank you for filling in for me and helping Christina with her move and school project. She specifically asked me to thank you personally."

Max was stunned. He paused in his drink and lifted up his eyes to stare at Bryce.

"She did?" He was forced to ask, mainly because she wasn't the type who would show gratitude so openly. She did last time but he didn't think she'd go through this length especially when she openly said she wanted nothing to do with him.

Bryce nodded once. "Yes she did. I'll take it that she feels more comfortable around you now."

"She wasn't before?" Max Indulged him, despite knowing fully well that she wasn't. It was a miracle that they've even come this far but still, he wanted to know what she thought of him from Bryce's perspective.

He didn't know why but he just wanted to.

"It gave up that vibes that she wasn't which is funny cause whenever I asked her for a reason, she brushes it off but I'm glad she feels comfortable around you now."

Max's lips stretched into a smile.

"Well, I just did what you asked me to. She's Hera's sister and your family now so I have an obligation towards you." Max added twirling the glass around his fingertips.

"Why are you smiling?" Bryce pointed out and his smile faded as quickly as they came.

"Am I?"

"You better not have any kind of funny ideas with Christina Max, I'm warning you." Bryce cautioned in a serious tone. "You just said that she's family which means that she's off limits even to you, got it?"

Max rolled his eyes at his friend. "I never said that I was going after her. Calm your horses."

"I never said you did either." Bryce countered. "But don't forget that we are best friends and I know you and how your mind works. Whatever it is you're thinking about, drop it now and don't dwell on it before you fall into temptations. Christina is off limits."
