Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start

After four years of a cold and neglectful marriage, Camila Davis had grown accustomed to her husband’s indifference. She watched helplessly as he readily attended to every request of his first love, Sandra Taylor. “Leave your job to Sandra and focus on raising the children at home,” he told her. “Today marks the first anniversary of Sandra’s divorce, so let’s not celebrate our wedding anniversary,” he added casually. Later, he informed her, “I’m attending a parent-teacher meeting for Sandra’s son, so I won’t have time to go to our daughter’s kindergarten event.” Enough was enough. Camila turned away from that life for good, eventually remarrying and taking her daughter with her. On her wedding day, her ex-husband showed up on his knees, begging for forgiveness. Coldly, Camila looked down at him and asked, “Need I arrange a separate table for you and your first love?” She continued firmly, “Our daughter has a new father now. If you have any objections, take it to court.” And as he mumbled about reuniting, she cut him off: “Want to remarry? Dream on — that only happen in your sleep.”
