Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1073

They reached the hospital in no time. Doctors and nurses were already waiting and took Vivien in for tests right away. Camila never left her side, quietly comforting her through the whole process.

The results came back sooner than expected. Thankfully, nothing was too serious. The doctor explained, “She needs to stay overnight for observation. If everything looks good tomorrow, she can go home.”

Camila nodded and thanked him. She stayed calm and took care of things, asking the butler to handle the admission paperwork while she sat with Vivien. Now that the panic had passed, Vivien just looked tired. Before long, she dozed off, her breathing soft and even.

Camila let herself relax a little. She tried calling Dennis again. This time, he picked up right away. “Camila, is everything okay?” His voice was gentle, instantly making her feel steadier.

She explained, “Are you done with work? Vivien fell and hit her stomach earlier. I tried to call before, but I couldn’t reach you. We’re at the hospital now. The doctor wants her to stay overnight for observation. When do you think you’ll be back?”

She could hear Dennis’s surprise. “We’re heading back now. It’ll take about two hours. Try not to worry. Just stay put at the hospital with Vivien and wait for us. Don’t go anywhere, okay?”

Mr. Byron must have been nearby. Suddenly, his worried voice cut in, “What happened to Vivien? Dennis, are Camila and Vivien really at the hospital?”

Dennis quickly filled him in. Mr. Byron sounded even more anxious. “Camila, is Vivien really alright? We’re on our way right now. Please, look after her for us. We’ll be there as soon as we can.”

Camila did her best to reassure him. “Please don’t worry. I’m here with her. She just fell asleep. I’ll send you the hospital address.”

“Alright,” he replied.
