Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1115

“I know exactly what to do,” Cynthia said, her heart practically skipping. With Camila out of the picture, she could finally have all the time she wanted with Dennis. She couldn’t hide her excitement, already picturing how things might be once Dennis was back.

Far away, in another country, Dennis Williams was about to call home when his phone buzzed. It was Audrey.

“Hey, we did everything just like you told us,” Audrey reported. “Larry and Sarah have already left for overseas. Mom’s just dealing with a minor cold. She’s already better after some medicine. The doctor said there’s no need for her to stay in the hospital, but to keep up the act for your plan, they’re pretending it’s serious and are still at the hospital.”

Audrey hadn’t known about the attack or kidnapping attempt at first. Dennis had only filled her in later. When she heard what Sandra and Lavinia had been planning for Camila, she felt a chill and a burst of anger. And as soon as Dennis mentioned there might be someone else behind it all, she agreed to help without a second thought.

Her mom falling sick gave them the perfect cover. Playing things up at the hospital was a good way to draw out whoever was pulling the strings.

“Alright, I get it,” Dennis said. “Any news? Did you see anything off?”

Audrey paused for a moment. “Nothing weird, really. No strangers hanging around or anything. But as I was about to leave the hospital today, I bumped into someone.”

“Who?” Dennis asked, his voice growing tense.

“Cynthia Lee,” Audrey said. “She was there with her mom, supposedly just getting a checkup and picking up medication. I didn’t want to read too much into it, but it just felt way too convenient. So, after I left, I had someone keep an eye on them. Turns out, they were just putting on a show. As soon as I was gone, they left without doing anything else.”
