Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 113

**Chapter 113: The Empress’s Brother**

Veyric’s eyes widened, his expression shifting to one of disbelief, as he took in the sight before him. “You’re from the Culinary Department? What on Earth are you doing in the Mecha Department?” His voice, barely above a whisper, was laced with confusion and surprise.

Sylvara, undeterred, lifted her chin defiantly and gestured ahead with a flourish. “He told me I could stand wherever I wanted,” she replied, her tone both casual and bold.

Veyric’s gaze followed hers, and the shock in his voice was palpable. “What on earth is he doing here?!” His heart raced, the weight of the moment settling heavily on his chest.

Leaning in closer, Sylvara’s curiosity piqued. “Do you know him?” she asked, her eyes sparkling with intrigue.

Veyric nodded vigorously, then shook his head in a flurry of conflicting emotions. “I know him, but he doesn’t know me,” he admitted, a mix of awe and anxiety swirling within him.

Sylvara elbowed him playfully, urging him to spill the details. “Stop stalling and just tell me already!” she insisted, her impatience bubbling to the surface.

Veyric cupped a hand to his mouth, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “He’s Blake Kenobia, a High General. He commands 150,000 royal guards on Centria planet.” The weight of the revelation hung in the air, thick and undeniable.

Sylvara gasped, her breath catching in her throat. “Are you kidding me? Why on Centria would a High General come to be an instructor? How bored does he have to be to do something this insane?” Her mind raced with the implications of such a presence in their midst.

“Shhh! Lower your voice, you waste-planet gremlin,” Veyric hissed, his eyes darting around to ensure they weren’t overheard. “I’m not done yet,” he added, urgency creeping into his tone.

Instantly, Sylvara straightened, adopting a sweet and obedient demeanor. “Go on, please. I’m all ears,” she encouraged, her curiosity piqued further.

Veyric adjusted his stance, bending his knees slightly to hide from view. “The High General part isn’t the crux of the matter. The real point is… he’s the Emperor’s brother-in-law—the Empress’s biological brother,” he revealed, his voice dropping to a near whisper.

“The Empress’s brother?” Sylvara’s eyes widened in realization. The implications clicked into place. Agares’s sister-in-law’s brother… That makes him my brother-in-law too? The thought sent a shiver down her spine.

“Yeah. The current Empress’s twin brother,” Veyric confirmed, his fingers deftly opening his optical computer. “Look at this picture of the Empress. Don’t they look strikingly alike, aside from the hair length?”

Sylvara leaned in, her heart pounding as she caught sight of the image on the screen.

The display revealed a woman adorned in ceremonial finery, a crown perched elegantly atop her head. Her bangs framed a smooth forehead, showcasing a pair of mesmerizing violet eyes. The features were handsome, refined, and cool, and she gazed gently at the person across from her.

“Exactly alike, right?” Veyric whispered again, his excitement bubbling beneath the surface. “Especially those purple eyes. In the entire Troya Empire, only those two share such a rare and beautiful hue.”

They were indeed identical.

The resemblance was so striking that Sylvara nearly blurted out a wild thought—could Blake be a cross-dressing king? But the idea faltered, and instead, she inquired, “The person the Empress is looking at—is that the Emperor?”

At first glance, the Empress’s gaze appeared soft and tender. However, upon closer inspection, it brimmed with a fierce possessiveness, as if her eyes were declaring, The one I’m looking at is mine. No one else can have him.

Veyric snorted with a hint of pride. “Of course! The Emperor and Empress are famously in love. They represent the ideal marriage of the Troya Empire.”
