Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 125

**Chapter 125: Sow Discord**

Shannon squinted, her heart sinking into a pit of frustration. Sylvara, a sophomore from the Culinary Department, was standing there, representing the department head. It was an odd sight, really, because in essence, she was now part of the faculty, a position that seemed to elevate her above the rest.

Lara was right, of course. No matter how many nameplates Sylvara ripped off, they wouldn’t contribute to the final score. The Culinary Department had always been viewed as a burden, a major that didn’t quite measure up.

“She’s just here to fill a quota. Those nameplates? She’s the one who swiped them in the first place, so why should she hand them over to you?” Veyric, with a defiant stance, shoved the stack of nameplates back into Sylvara’s pocket, standing protectively in front of her.

Lara, her patience worn thin, pulled a laser gun from her backpack and aimed it threateningly at them. “Veyric, you took down one three-headed dog, and now you think you’re invincible? Step aside, or I swear I’ll fire.”

It was unusual for Veyric, typically goofy and shy, to stand his ground. But in this moment, he drew his own weapon, a laser gun gleaming ominously in his grip. “Come on, let’s have it out. Let’s see who gets eliminated first.”

“Everyone, let’s take a breath,” Shannon interjected, stepping between them like a desperate peacemaker. “We’re supposed to be on the same side here. Fighting amongst ourselves is just unseemly.”

“Issac!” Lara snapped, her voice dripping with disdain. “I’m the top student in the Healing Department, and you’re the best in Combat. And Shannon, you excel in Strategy. What do these two bring to the table? One’s a mental drain with pathetic physical stats, and the other just got lucky against a three-headed dog. They’re dragging us down, and now their nameplates don’t even count. Why can’t we use them to boost our score?”

Sylvara couldn’t believe the audacity she was witnessing. She had seen shamelessness before, but this was a whole new level of boldness.

At first, she had hoped for civility among them. If they could coexist peacefully, wonderful. If not, they could simply part ways. But this confrontation was far from what she had envisioned. With a swift motion, Sylvara reached out, her hand gripping Veyric’s shoulder, pulling him protectively behind her.

Veyric stumbled back, startled. Facing Lara, Sylvara spoke with a calmness that belied the tension in the air. “Lara, you’re correct. I’m merely a sophomore here to fill a space. My nameplates won’t count for anything. So why not let me hand them over to you and help your team climb the ranks? Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it?”

Lara lifted her chin, a smug expression crossing her face. “Smart move. Hand them over now.”

Sylvara chuckled lightly, patting her bulging pocket. “Oh, come closer. I’ll give you every single one.”

Panic flashed across Veyric’s face as he tried to step forward, but Shannon subtly turned and grasped him from behind, holding him back.

From the corner of her eye, Sylvara caught the movement and felt a surge of satisfaction.
