**Chapter 130: Wings Torn from the Sky**
The moment was electric, and Sylvara’s face transformed, her determination igniting like a flame. With a sudden burst of energy, she flung her backpack aside, the weight of it no longer relevant as she propelled herself forward.
Before her, on the barren ground, a vibrant green vine erupted from the earth, rising majestically to intercept the deadly jaws of the enormous python, Agares.
**Finished.**
Agares, momentarily stunned, withdrew his mental energy, taking a cautious step back. His dark, piercing eyes were fixed on the vine, which seemed to pulsate with a life of its own, stretching and twisting as if it possessed a consciousness.
The other deputy generals and squad leaders stood frozen, a chaotic tableau of disbelief, their cherished cold weapons clutched tightly in their hands. They stared at the vine, their minds racing with confusion and fear. *What kind of plant is that? It’s growing as rapidly as a winged serpent, moving with intention, and it can even defend itself against a creature like Agares!*
“Clang!”
In a swift motion, Sylvara drew the saber she had bartered with Agares, the blade glinting with promise as it emerged from her spatial button.
She moved with the grace of a startled swan, her movements fluid and almost ethereal, darting behind Agares. Without a moment’s hesitation, she seized his arm and pulled him back, her instincts guiding her actions.
In that moment, she completely forgot that the man she was dragging was none other than the commander of the Troya Empire, a figure of formidable strength and mental prowess. All that mattered to her was one singular thought: she couldn’t allow her man to be bullied by a mere snake.
Agares stumbled back, his well-defined features momentarily shifting in surprise as he turned his head just in time to see a blade flash perilously close to his cheek, aimed directly at the eye of the winged serpent.
“Who is that?” Leiya exclaimed, her voice laced with astonishment as she pinched Zolensky hard on the arm.
“Ow! How should I know?” Zolensky yelped, his eyes wide with shock.
Bane Nemoria, the deputy general from the Third Battalion, muttered something that bordered on treason. “Why do I get the feeling she’s even more savage than Commander Vaelor?”
In unison, the thirty-plus onlookers snapped their gazes toward Bane, and without a second thought, they gave him a thumbs-up. “Someone this fierce deserves a place in the Hunting Legion, where she can be trained properly.”
**Squelch!**
The winged serpent’s left eye was pierced, and a spray of crimson erupted like a fountain.
The creature let out a deafening shriek, its massive wings flailing wildly as its colossal tail lashed out toward Sylvara.
With a deft motion, Sylvara withdrew the saber from the serpent’s eye and, using the ever-expanding green vine as her foothold, she thrust downwards at the oncoming tail.
“Hey, doesn’t that girl’s knife look oddly familiar?” Zolensky remarked, his brow furrowing as he strained to recall where he had seen such a weapon.
