Chapter 157 Savage
Aslan was speechless.
Heh.
You’re the boss. Whatever you say goes.
But

… Aslan still had to ask, “It kinda looked like His Highness Agares saw you. Is that why he didn’t counterattack?”
Blake countered back with another question. “So, what if he saw me? Send a message to the Strategy Department. Tell them to broadcast to all instructors, freshmen, and upperclassmen: the anomaly in this year’s military training is currently fleeing west at ten o’clock. Estimated headcount: forty.”
Savage.
This guy was still the most savage of them all.
Mobilizing 300 and 10,000 people-old students, new students, plus all instructors-to surround forty runners. He was really going all in.
But as the designated errand boy, Aslan couldn’t question orders. He typed while asking, “What about Sylvara? Do we send it to her, too?”
Blake’s lips curled. He dipped his head slightly, and his sunglasses slid just enough to reveal those striking violet eyes, staring straight at Aslan. “Did you leave your brain back on the aircraft? Or did I fly the warship so high your vision blurred and you missed the little anomaly hiding inside the Eagle cluster?”
Aslan’s finger froze over the optical computer. He didn’t know what to say.
Right. He’d completely forgotten about the kid from the Storms.
With that kid’s personality, there was no way he’d outplay Sylvara.
And since the two of them were grouped…
Any message the kid received would definitely end up in Sylvara’s hands.
Which meant she’d already seen the earlier broadcast.
If Sylvara knew, then chances were Agares knew too.
That mortar landed right in front of them, and Agares did not lift a finger-he’d clearly been

Once Blake saw the realization dawn on him, he nudged his sunglasses back up and pulled the warship into a smooth 360, swung the nose around, cloaked, and headed west.
Down in the forest, Sylvara listened as the booming outside finally died away. She clapped a hand on the panting Veyric’s back and deliberately exaggerated her own breathing. “Stop… stop, let’s catch our breath. I can’t run anymore.”
Veyric had just about run himself into respiratory failure. After Sylvara patted his back, he skidded to a halt, let out a long exhale, and instantly felt clear-headed and light. He let go of her wrist. “I don’t get it. You had the nerve to call out my idol, but two sprints later you’re already done?”
The big dumb puppy hadn’t seen her take down the mutated serpent. In his mind, she was still just a piece of trash.
“I am trash. It’s not like you don’t know.” Sylvara braced her hands on her knees, kept her back bent and her breathing “ragged” on purpose, and glanced up to see Agares’s men pounding toward them in a tight formation. “Mouthing off at your idol was just me betting on the fact that he doesn’t hit women. Total dumb luck, nothing else.”
Veyric jumped like a little grasshopper. “Who said he doesn’t hit women? Piss him off and watch him beat you half to death!”
Sylvara blinked. “He hits women?”
No way. That iron-clad, empire-first block of steel actually hit women?
Veyric jabbed a finger at her, scolding like an outraged fanboy. “And you still claim you like His Highness Agares? Fake fan. You don’t even know that back when he was in the academy, during a joint drill with other races, he almost beat a female of the beastfolk so hard she was crawling around the ground looking for her teeth.”
“Female beastfolk?” Sylvara felt her collection of weird trivia expand again. “And that is… what exactly?”
Veyric opened his mouth. “Yeah, the females of the beastfolk. Different species, different ways of labeling sex. We have male and female; they have males and females, but it’s in their own
terms.”
Sylvara nodded slowly. “So, your idol beat up one of their women?”
Veyric nodded hard. “Yup. Not only did Mr. Vaelor beat that beastfolk female, he almost shattered her spine. One more hit and she’d have spent the rest of her life in bed.”
“You little brat, quit sneaking onto off-world forums to read beastfolk gossip and dragging Mr.
