Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 69

**Chapter 69: First Fans**

Auren stood rigidly, a salute snapping into place as he acknowledged the presence of Mr. Vaclor. “Yes, Mr. Vaclor,” he responded, his voice steady yet tinged with an undercurrent of anxiety.

Agares, with an air of finality, turned on his heel and strode away, leaving a palpable tension in the air.

Finished.

As soon as the figure of Agares faded into the distance, Carlos erupted with fury, lunging towards Auren with a wild, desperate energy. “Traitor! You sold me out! And now you think you can just take my apple gel? Didn’t you win a prize too?!” His voice dripped with betrayal, each word a sharp accusation.

Auren sidestepped with ease, watching as Carlos stumbled forward, nearly losing his balance. “Yeah, I did win one. That’s precisely why I’m holding onto mine. Naturally, we’ll be using yours for the experiment,” he replied coolly, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes.

“You …” Carlos’s indignation sputtered, his thoughts racing as he struggled to formulate a retort.

“Enough of this. Just hurry up and pull out your apple gel. Mr. Vaclor is waiting for the results, and we can’t keep him waiting,” Auren urged, his tone firm yet encouraging.

Fuming, Carlos felt the heat of anger rising within him, but the weight of Agares’ command was not something he could ignore. With a growl of frustration, he yanked the apple gel from his spatial button and thrust it towards Auren. “Use as little as you can,” he spat, his voice low and dangerous. “Leave the majority for me.”

Auren snatched it from Carlos’s grip and tucked it away in his own spatial button, a satisfied grin creeping onto his face. “Do your best with those mechas. And make sure you finish your 75-mile weighted run by tomorrow morning. Good luck!” His tone was light, almost teasing, as he patted Carlos on the shoulder.

Carlos felt as though he might explode from the sheer intensity of his rage.

Nearby, Sylvara stifled a yawn, her eyelids heavy with sleep. She could hardly keep her eyes open as Isaac droned on, his monologue stretching into what felt like an eternity.

“So long-winded,” she muttered under her breath, her irritation barely concealed. Veyric leaned closer, a conspiratorial glint in his eye as he produced two pieces of candy from his spatial button. He offered one to her with a sly smile. “He’s just like his dad.”

Sylvara blinked, wiping away the remnants of her yawning fit. “You know his dad?” she asked, curiosity piqued.

Veyric popped the candy into his mouth, savoring its sweetness before quietly opening his optical computer. He showed her a page filled with information. “Not personally, but his dad is a councilor—a significant figure in the Assembly.”

He continued, his voice dropping to a whisper as if sharing a secret. “Their family is connected to the royal house. When Isaac was a kid on Centria, he was a real troublemaker, always stirring up chaos.”

“If his dad hadn’t used his noble privileges to sweep things under the rug, he would have faced serious consequences for his actions. It’s all documented on Starnet. Look, see? That’s him.”

Sylvara leaned closer, her eyes scanning the screen filled with scandalous headlines about Isaac.
