Chapter 90 The Price of a Meal

Finished

“Aunt Seraphine’s not leaving? Let me see you out.” Seeing Seraphine crouching there motionless, Sylvara reached out and grabbed her by the back of her collar, hauled her up from the ground, and tossed her toward the door, throwing her out.

After tossing her out, Sylvara dusted off her hands and was about to use her mental energy to close the door when a startled cry came from the doorway. “Whoa, what the heck?”

Sylvara quickly walked to the doorway and saw Seraphine, whom she’d just thrown out, lying on the ground convulsing while Veyric crouched beside her, reaching out to check on her.

Sylvara spoke coolly. “Veyric, you know this person who came here to rob me?”

Veyric’s outstretched hand snapped back instantly. He shot over to Sylvara like an arrow, his eyes gleaming hungrily as he rubbed his hands together. “Sylvie, I heard that you’re Sylvara, aren’t you …”

“Shut it.” Sylvara cut him off. “Want dinner?”

Veyric nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes, yes!”

Of course he wanted to eat.

He’d watched her livestream on the way over. The dried lemon water, sweet honey candies, ribs, meat-everything made him feel like he’d wasted the last dozen years of his life never having eaten any of it.

Sylvara lifted her chin, gesturing toward Seraphine. “Dump this robber at the villa next door and you can come eat with me.”

For the sake of food, he’d dump not just one woman but a mutant beast if he had to.

“No problem.” Veyric responded enthusiastically, scooping up Seraphine and carrying her out like a sack of potatoes.

Far away on Kolar planet, the vice commanders of the Hunting Legion cleaned up the mutant worm corpses at top speed and returned to their base camp.

All six of them were crouching in a row with their hands cupping their chins, staring unblinkingly at the teleportation bay.

Other members of the Hunting Legion passing by were startled at the sight.

They couldn’t help but whisper among themselves. “Have the vice commanders gotten their brains fried by the disgusting mutant worm corpses, or are they plotting to rebel against the commander to be striking such weird, creepy poses?”

Just as they were discussing various possibilities.

Ding.

The teleportation bay made the sound indicating something was being transmitted.

The six vice commanders of the Hunting Legion instantly lunged like rabid dogs going after food, all jumping to their feet in unison and rushing toward the bay. Just as they were scrambling over each other to grab what had been transmitted.

Agares’s cold, rigid voice struck like thunder from the sky, crashing down on them. “Seeing all of you makes me realize that having you clean up mutant worm corpses 200 miles into the interior is too lenient.”

The six vice commanders immediately stood at attention, turned, and saluted in perfect unison. “Reporting to Commander Vaelor, it’s not lenient at all.”

Agares wore an army green uniform, his broad shoulders and narrow waist complemented by powerful legs wrapped in army green pants and boots. His face stern, he walked to the teleportation bay. “Not lenient? Then why are you all lounging around here waiting for packages?”

“Mr. Raghul brought us here.” The Second Battalion’s vice commander, along with everyone else, shoved Leiya from the First Battalion, who’d been standing at the front, and all their fingers pointed at him in unison.

Caught completely off guard by the shove, Leiya whirled around and glared viciously at his shameless colleagues. This was clearly a group effort-why were they pinning it all on him?

“Oh?” Agares’s gaze swept over and landed on Leiya.

Leiya broke out in a cold sweat and immediately snapped a perfect salute, responding to Agares with full confidence. “Yes, Commander Vaelor. We weren’t just waiting around for packages. Mrs. Vaelor sent something to you, and we were worried the items might be too heavy, so we came to help carry them.”

Agares’s dark eyes flashed as they fell on the teleportation bay’s interior. Inside was one large food container and over a dozen smaller boxes. A hint of realization crossed his cold expression. “I see. It looks like I misunderstood you all. Please take these items to my quarters.”

Leiya was stunned.

What?

Take it all?

Sylvara sent this for them!

The others were equally shocked.
