Chapter 113
Vanessa POV
640
When I woke up, it was 10:00 a.m. I couldn’t believe that I had slept that long. We went to bed at a decent time. It was not too late. I assume that, given everything my body went through, it needed to rest. Again, the bell was there. I already knew that Stacey was out in the living room. I rang the bell. Stacey came into the room.
“Good morning, Luna.”
Stacey, I have asked you not to call me that.”
I know I wanted to see if you remembered that.”
She smiled. She came over to the bed and helped me to the bathroom. I took care of my business, and she helped me back to bed.
Can you help me get dressed, please?”
She nodded and brought me a blue sweatsuit from the closet. It was perfect to keep me warm: soft, not tight, and with a matching undergarment. She helped me with my bra. I put on my shirt, then took off my pajama pants and put on my underwear while sitting on the bed, then put on my pants. I asked for her help to stand up, and I managed to pull up my underwear and pants on my own. I was thrilled to do this on my own. She helped me walk to the dining room. On the table was a box of donuts and a note.
My beautiful Luna,
I had things to tend to, but I will see you this afternoon.
Love,
Alfred
He was so sweet. He knew I liked donuts. It was plain glazed donuts. Next time we go to town together, I’m going to get a chocolate-glazed donut. I have always wanted to try one. It looked so good when I saw someone else eating one. I was sitting at the table eating my donuts and drinking my coffee. I heard the front door open, and I could listen to Stacey fighting with someone. She ran into the dining room. She picked me up and threw me over her shoulder.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?”
“There is no time to explain right now.”
She ran out the back door and went straight for the training grounds. I could see Alfred out there training. He saw Stacey running towards him with me on her shoulder. He ran to us. He then yelled.
“WHAT’S GOING ON?”
Stacey handed me to him.
‘Someone knocked on the front door.”
When I answered it, they wanted me to give the Luna to them. I said no.”
‘I left them knocked out on the floor in the house.”
Where were the guards?”

Chapter 113
“I don’t know.”
He handed me to T).
Take her to the safe house.

Ti started to run the other way. Within seconds, we were at this house. The shrubs were overgrown, and vines were crawling up the sides of the house. He found the key to the house under a rock and unlocked the door. He then took me into the house and placed me on the couch.
*Alfred will be here soon.*
Ti turned on the lights and left. I looked around the house, which was really dusty. It looked like nobody had been here for a while. All the windows were covered with dark curtains. I slowly got up and held on to the furniture. While I waited for someone, I decided to dust. I slowly made my way to the kitchen, which was small and featured an island in the center. The stove was gas. The sink was dusty, as if it hadn’t been used in a while. I pulled a chair up to the refrigerator, opened it, and, to my surprise, it was full of brand-new food. It seemed as though someone had planned for it to be used soon.
I had a feeling that I wasn’t being told everything I needed to know. I then looked in the drawers. There was silverware in one. Then in the second one, I looked and there were washcloths. I looked in every drawer. Everything seemed brand new, yet not used. I grabbed a couple of washcloths. I then looked under the sink. There were cleaning supplies. I grabbed the bottle of Pinesol, which was pine-scented. I washed the sink and the surrounding area. I then filled the sink with warm water and Pinesol. I then proceeded to clean the kitchen. I would have to take frequent breaks because my legs would get tired. However, after a couple of hours, the kitchen was clean. I sat down and took a rest for a while. I was exhausted. I then slowly made my way to the living
room.
While sitting on the couch, I noticed there were two bedrooms. I leaned against the wall and opened one door. The bed was made, but everything else was dusty. Even the blankets were dirty, but if I removed the top blanket, the one underneath was clean. I climbed into bed and fell asleep quickly. I woke when I heard the front door open. I rolled off and hid behind the bed. Then I heard Alfred’s voice.
* Vanessa, where are you?”
“I’m in here.”
Within seconds, he was in the bedroom and picked me up.
What are you doing on the floor?”
“I was hiding.”
Little one, that is not a good place to hide.”
I was trying to scoot under the bed. I know that we have a strong sense of smell. I knew that I would be found, but at least I could crawl out from under the bed and crawl to the front door. However, he was right; it was not a good hiding spot. He started to carry me to the living room.
*Please don’t sit me on that filthy couch.”
“Everything needs to be cleaned and dusted.”
I know little one.”
‘I cleaned the kitchen,”
‘Put me on a chair in there.”
He had a shocked look on his face. I’m not unable to do things. It just takes me a while right now to do things. After he sat me down in a chair in the kitchen, he explained that he had to deal with some people over a business arrangement that had not gone very well. The men who came to the house wanted to kidnap me and ask for a ransom. For the time being, I was going to be staying in this house.
“That’s fine.”
‘You’re not upset.”

No, babe, I understand that you deal with people who aren’t very nice.”
He smiled and then kissed me. He went into the fridge and brought me a cold bottle of water.
The kitchen looks great, baby.”
Thank you.”
knew how to clean. It was not that hard. I bet he was shocked that I did it all on my own without any help. He seemed to be surprised by my strength. With determination and drive, you can accomplish anything.
– Do you know if Junior is OK?”
I want to go see him.”
He is fine.”
“We’ll go see him in the morning.”
