The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 119

Chapter 119

Alfreds POV

Vanessa is thrashing around on the bed as if she is fighting someone. I immediately kicked my shoes off, crawled onto the bed, and pulled Vanessa over me. At first, she does not realize it’s me.

*Little one, it’s me.”

Settle down, baby.”

“Everything is alright.”

As soon as she hears my voice, she calms. I give her more sedatives, hoping she’ll rest. I know she’s hiding something about who hurt her. As I stroke her hair, she falls asleep. She has nightmares all night, struggling and screaming. I know Robert is tormenting her in her dreams. When I find him, I’ll make him pay. Tyler is in jail; the witches will attack, but Paul’s quick thinking has caught the man who cursed us. Kolby spelled the cell, so Tyler’s magic wouldn’t work.

He could not even do counter spells with the spell that was cast. Kolby was a stronger witch than Tyler. I lay in bed all night. Every time I was drifting off to sleep, I would quit stroking Vanessa’s hair. She would start having nightmares again. I’m going to kill Robert when we get our hands on him-those who would torture innocent girls need to be shot. Young girls did not deserve to be tortured and used like that. I know the rumors of Robert; he has taken several chosen mates, and everyone has turned up dead. He has no children to pass the title to. Part of me wanted to believe that the rumors about his mates were just rumors, with no basis in truth. However, judging from Vanessa’s reaction, that was very unlikely.

She tossed and turned; she seemed to have nightmare after nightmare-my poor Luna. The sun was finally coming up. I believe I only got a total of three hours of sleep. She woke up from another nightmare. This time, she just lay there, and I assured her that she was OK. I then heard her stomach growl. I got up and made us something to eat. It was six in the morning. I made a simple breakfast of eggs and bacon. I made her plate first, then mine. We ate in silence. I don’t think either of us knew what to say. Yesterday was a horrible day, and it was a long night. I didn’t want to leave her today; however, I had things to attend to. Like, go and tend to Tyler and get him to lift this curse for my son. It would also help Vanessa calm down. I was trying to read her mind, but I could not. She had blocked me.

She was writing down a list of things she planned to do that day. However, she also planned to do other things. However, she wasn’t telling me what she had planned. She had asked to see Junior, and I told her no because it was not safe. I knew she was aching to see him, so was I. It’s just not safe to take her. I knew Robert was going to try to kidnap her again. He wanted her for her powers. She was still healing from giving birth and having an emergency C-section. She was not yet ready to shift. Usually, when a she-wolf gives birth, she waits at least six to eight weeks before they shifts again. It’s been seven weeks now. Junior will be eight weeks old in a few days. The doctor is coming tomorrow to check on Vanessa. It would be nice to know if everything is healing as it should.

I kissed her and left. I met Chris, Paul, and Lucas at the jail to discuss Tyler’s situation. I knew I would need the extra muscles. Tyler was very physically strong. I knew I would need help to subdue him and get him chained to a chair. I had also summoned Kolby to come. I needed him to keep Tyler’s magic under control. I know Kolby is a strong enough witch to do so. If Tyler does not lift the curse, then I will kill him. If it is true, all the curses that he created will die with him. I want him to become an ally, not an enemy. Kolby chose to become an ally and not die. Kolby and I have had issues, but we have made up. He has become a great ally. He has helped protect my pack. Which I am forever grateful for.

We waited for Kolby to arrive before entering the jail. Tyler had been put at the back of the prison. As I was passing Veronica’s cell, she yelled at me.

When can I get out of here?”

I will deal with you later.”

I continued walking to Tyler’s cell. We arrived at his cell. He was looking at us with a death glare. Kolby entered the cell first. I then entered, and everyone else followed. Lucas and Paul got on his left. Chris and I got on his left. Kolby then used magic to release his chains, and we grabbed him. We dragged him into the interrogation room. He tried to use his magic to get us off him, but Colby was still using his magic to keep Tyler’s magic in check. He made sure that Tyler could not use his magic. We got him into a chair. It was a struggle, and Chris’s thumb got smashed. He cursed and got back to work. He tied Tyler

securely to the chair.

⚫ Tyler, all I want is for you to release the curse you have on my family, and we will let you go.”

Your great-grandfather is the one who initiated the curse.”

Chapter 119

If he hadn’t attacked my people, then I would have never cursed your family.”

That was interesting news. During that time, a war was going on. Was he sure it was my pack that attacked his people? Five packs were fighting. As far as I knew, my pack never attacked the witches until they attacked my pack.

Are you sure it was my pack that attacked your people?’

What did these wolves look like?’

Everyone in my pack had dark fur. Even the wolves that were mated to members of my pack over time have changed color. Our coloring ranges from dark brown to black.

Yes, all of you have dark fur.”

There are three packs with dark fur.”

Do you know who the alpha was?”

His name was Zack.”

That was the name of my great-grandfather’s brother. He was the alpha of the Rocky Mountain pack. He had bright brown fur, but in the dark it looked dark. I could see why he cursed my great-grandfather. We very rarely attack other creatures, especially witches. We tried to keep our wars between us. I remember my father saying something about that war. It was a bloody time. The werewolves were fighting among themselves. Everyone was fighting to be king because the original king had died without an heir. The Luna had died in childbirth, as well as the baby. This drove the king mad, and he unleashed terror on every pack. Then he was killed in a battle.
