Chapter 121
Alfreds POV
That king was crazy. Somehow, my great-great-grandfather became king and managed to get the packs to stop fighting, signing treaties with each. Over the years, some packs have broken these treaties, leading to wars. I left to talk to Kolby and the others. I needed everyone’s opinion. Was Tyler telling the truth about cursing my family? I’d heard about the packs’ war that pulled in witches, vampires, fairies, dragons, and lycans. It was a dark time for us all. My father said many innocent lives were lost.
We were in the hall when my face burned, then pain hit my gut. I knew it was Vanessa, though she should have been at the safe house. What was happening? Then I heard Tyler laughing. When I reentered, I was in no mood to be nice.
What do you know that you’re not telling me?”
I guess Robert has your mate.”
Where the fuck are they?”
He tried to act like he didn’t know, but I was not tolerating it. I punch him so hard in the stomach that he throws up blood. After that, he tells me that they are in a shed in the middle of the human village. I knock Tyler out, and Chris and Lucas drag him back to his cell. We then take off running towards the human village, shifting as we go. When we arrive at the shed, I hear fighting. I know it is Vanessa. I hear Sasha howl in pain, and Nash goes crazy. He lounges at the door and knocks it down. He rushes in and finds his mate limping towards the door. She had Danger lying on his side, and she was trying to get away. I see blood coming from her leg. Nash loses it. I had ordered Stacey to follow us in human form and bring some warriors with vehicles.
Vanessa shifts back to human form, and her left leg is broken again. I’m beyond furious. Nash knocks Danger out, and he automatically shifts back to human form. Robert is knocked out. I then shift back to human form. I picked up Vanessa and carried her to the car. We got into the car, and I slammed her into the passenger seat. I set her leg. I know she feels the pain. At this point, I had no sympathy for her; she disobeyed me. Her life is in danger. She went to the hospital without me. I split her leg, and I had a shirt under the passenger seat of the car. I grabbed it and put it on her. When we arrived at the emergency room, I carried her into the hospital and dumped her on the bed, yelled for the doctor, and walked out of the room. I then informed the nurses that no one is allowed to enter her room unless it’s medical staff, and that she is not permitted to leave the room. I made sure to use my authoritative voice to ensure they knew I was serious.
I went to the safe house and got dressed. Chris Paul and Lucas were putting Robert in the dungeon. I only use the dungeon for special cases. Robert was a special case. They got done putting him in the dungeon and brought me the key to the dungeon. One of my best warriors was going to be placed in charge of watching over him. I was going to torture him every day. He had no right to touch my Luna. His wolf had no right to touch Nash’s mate. I was beyond pissed at the whole situation. I needed a little time to calm down. If I dealt with Vanessa right now, it would not be good. I took a hot shower, trying to calm down. I knew Vanessa was at the hospital, and she was safe, but I was pissed that she disobeyed me. She also got Stacey to go along with her plan. She was in danger. We now have Tyler in custody, so the witches will attack to retrieve him. We also have Robert in custody, and his pack, if they are loyal, will
attack as well.
Kolby is a powerful witch. However, I do not know how many are loyal to him. I really don’t want to have to involve the dragons and other packs in this. I finished my shower and got dressed. Chris was waiting outside with the car. We drove back to the hospital. Vanessa was in the nursery with Junior. I knew she would go there to see him. She had several guards with her. She was sitting on a rocking chair. She was rocking back and forth, holding Junior. She did notice me at first. I’m glad she did not. It is a joy to see her smiling and cooing at our baby. She looked beautiful sitting in the chair, holding him and rocking. She was still in my shirt. Her leg was in a cast. It will be coming off either tomorrow or the next day.
She was doing OK. She looked tired. However, I expected that. I slowly walked up behind her and placed my hand on her shoulder. I took Junior from her and sat across from her. I smiled at him and then kissed him on the head. He smiled at me. I had the nurse put him back in his crib. I then picked up Vanessa and carried her to the car. There is an uncomfortable silence in the car on the way back to the safe house. I must admit that she did an incredible job cleaning the house. The kitchen was spotless, and the living room smelled of Pinesol. She had taken the covers off the cushions and put them in the washer. The living room looked amazing. She amazes me all the time. She is so strong. However, that does not make what she did OK. We got back to the
house.
I picked her up and carried her into the house. This time, I gently sat her down on the couch. I pull up a chair across from her.
‘Little one, please forgive my behavior.”
‘I was so worried about you.”

Chapter 121
I know, I’m sorry.”
She did not try to explain things away. She knew she had done wrong. Instead, she hung her down.
My actions led to me getting kidnapped and getting hurt again.”
I wanted to see Junior so badly that I put myself in danger.
I sat there and listened to her go on and on about how her actions were wrong and how sorry she was for not listening to me. I let her go on and on. Finally, she stopped apologizing. I no longer cared that she didn’t listen to me. I was just delighted that she was alive and safe now.
I don’t think I have to scold you, little one.”
You have been through enough for one day.”
I then got up and put the chair back. After doing that, I walked over to the other couch, picked her up, and carried her to the bedroom. I lay her down on the bed and started to kiss her.
