The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 125

Alfred POV

After getting Vanessa back to the house, I loved the look on her face when she saw the food on the table. I had Chris bring this food over while we were at the hospital. I had called him after Vanessa had the splint removed from her leg. I was a bit confused when a female doctor went into the room. Doctor Moser told me that a woman would examine Vanessa to see if she was healed. When the doctor came out of the room with a smile on her face, she told me that Vanessa could have sex again. I knew I needed it, so did Vanessa. It has been several weeks since we made love. I knew that she was sexually frustrated, so was 1. Her jerking me off and giving me blow jobs was great, but I wanted to be inside her.

I had gotten her the soda she liked. I pulled out her chair and served her. I then poured her some soda. She enjoyed her food. I then suggested that we go for a swim. Her face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. I knew she hadn’t explored her surroundings much. She has been confined to the house. Mainly because she has not been able to walk, and also because of the danger from the people who wanted to kidnap her. I was looking forward to enjoying this day with her. She needed it just as much as I did. We have been going through so much. She has been cleaning and healing, and she ended the day by relaxing and being herself.

I suggest that we shift to our wolves. Vanessa packed a bag with our swimsuits. I noticed that she did not put any towels in the bag. She put the tie by the front door. I had one of the guards take it to the lake. I also gave him instructions to put out some towels. We then went out the back door and shifted to our wolf forms. Leon was so happy to see Sasha. He saw her the other day, but she was in danger. This time, they were going to spend time together. It only took a little over five minutes to go to the lake. However, Leon took his time just enjoying Sasha’s company. They slowly walked to the lake. When they arrived, Leon looked around to make sure no males would see Vanessa naked when she shifted to her human form.

I had planned to have a campout dinner with her. I had a tent set up with everything ready to go. I had the fire pit set up. I had the tent ready to go. I even had a new nightgown for her in the tent. It was specifically designed for camping. It had long sleeves and was made from a material that kept her warm and cool, depending on the weather outside. If it were cold outside, it would keep her warm. If it were hot outside, it would keep her calm. It would also do everything that it was meant to. I had a camping mat placed in the tent with blankets for her comfort. I have thought of everything I could. It was much easier when I went camping out here by myself. I now had a mate who required things I did not.

I loved having a mate, but they required a lot of work. After we shifted back to human form and put on our suits, we started playing in the water. When she got in the water, her nipples immediately got perky from the cold water. I enjoyed the sight. I also would look around frequently to make sure I was the only one staring at her. I checked the tree line. I could see my warriors walking back and forth. None of them stopped to stare. They were minding their own business just like they had been trained to do. We spent hours playing in the water. I finally got her to the deep end. I held her while we floated in the water. She really could not swim well. However, I intend to change that.

Right now is not the time. Today was about enjoying time with my mate and the mother of my child. I lay back and let her float. I was right by her side the whole time. I could tell she was having a good time. I was enjoying watching her. Today has been a great day. I could not wait until tonight. Having her out in the wild, away from everything that has been stressing her out. I knew there were bears and other sifters out in the woods, but for the most part, they kept to themselves. They never really bothered us while we were out here. I had people back in the village preparing to go to war. They were preparing for battletents, food, and medical supplies.

After today, we were going to go home, back to the pack house. However, right now it is about us and being able to enjoy each other. We needed this. There was no way of telling when we would get another chance to be a couple. With Junior possibly coming home sooner rather than later, there was still a lot to do. We finished swimming, and her lips were starting to turn blue. She was also shivering. That was my cue to take her to the campsite and start a fire. The water was crystal clear but also cold during this time of year. However, the water also had healing properties. It would help with any aches and pains she had. When we got to the clearing, the tent and things were set up, and I covered her eyes.

Alfred, what is going on?

I have a surprise for you.

She did not try to fight me. She allowed me to lead her to the campsite. After we walked through the trees, I removed my hand from her eyes. She squealed with delight. She let the towel drop, and she ran around the campsite. She touches everything like she were a kid. I enjoyed watching her. It was as if she had always wanted to go camping but never had the chance. Given her upbringing, it was no surprise that this was the case. It seemed that her parents kept her sisters and her isolated from everyone. That they wanted to keep them away from any potential fated mates to keep them for chosen mates. That was a hard way to grow up. Everyone I knew always encouraged their children to look for their fated mates.

Even though they were too young to feel the mate bond, you could tell who was going to be fated mates when they grew up, when a young man hung around a female all the time. We were ninetynine percent sure that they were going to be fated mates. There was one time that I was wrong. But their fated mates wanted to be with each other. So they broke the mate bond. Then they would take a chosen mate. I never interfered with people’s lives.

Chapter 126

Vanessa POV

After we shifted to our wolves, Nash and Sasha played and teased each other at the lake, clearly enjoying themselves. When we arrived, the water was crystal clear, displaying a deep blue hue that allowed us to see all the way to the bottom. I had forgotten to pack towels, but to my surprise, there were some already waiting on a rockAlfred had thought of everything, even ensuring no guards were around. We let Nash and Sasha continue to have fun before shifting back to our human forms. Once changed into our swimsuits, we found the water inviting, even though the temperature outside wasn’t exactly suited for swimming. Still, I was willing to indulge Alfred, who had just run into the lake, while I slowly made my way in.

Expecting freezing water, I was surprised to find it pleasantly warmcool enough to refresh, yet never too cold. As I watched my feet step into the lake, the unmoving sand at the bottom kept the water clear, unlike other lakes that become murky even with slight movement. Alfred stood in a deeper section, the water reaching his chin while he sat; when upright, it came only to his waist. I waded in until the water was at my waist, feeling my nipples harden from the coolness and the gentle sway of the water brushing sensitive places.

Reaching Alfred, he pulled me close before kissing me, and soon we began playfully splashing and dunking each other. Attempting to run in the water, I lost my footing and fell facefirst, emerging in laughter as Alfred joined in. After several more rounds of dunking and splashing, he floated on his back while I triedalmost reaching the lake’s bottom. He then held me up as I floated, and we enjoyed drifting together. When I stood up, I noticed my hands starting to prune from our time in the water. Although I wasn’t sure how long we had played, I knew I had enjoyed every moment.

We waded to shore. I got out first, and he followed with a towel. I dried off, then he did as well.

I have another surprise for you.

How many surprises could he possibly have? Loving him, I knew being with him was already enough. He escorted me to the edge of a row of trees and covered my eyes, guiding me through until he uncovered them to reveal a campsite. A fire crackled nearby, with a tentlarge and redalready set up, complete with a bed fashioned from sleeping bags and pillows. Excited as a child, I ran around, touching everything I saw; camping was something I’d always wanted but never been allowed to do. On the bed, a new blue nightgown made of soft, fuzzy material promised warmth and comfort, according to its tag, ensuring I’d stay cozy yet cool at the same time.

He really had thought of everything, and as he walked into the tent behind me, his eyes met mine with gentle affection.

Do you like everything, baby?

* Yes, I do.

I turned around in his arms, pressing my lips softly to his, savoring the connection between us. His kiss grew deeper, his hands sliding gently over me, kindling a warmth that spread through my whole body.

Did I tell you that the doctor said we could make love again?

No, you did not.

He smiled like he already knew and was trying to be cute. I enjoyed his attempt to be slick, then moved to put my hand down his shorts. He stopped me.

Little one, I want to make us dinner, then we can fool around in bed.

* But I need you.

Little one, I have stuff on the grill.

I stopped trying to put my hands down his shorts. I then kissed him. He took a deep breath and walked out of the tent. I decided to take my swimsuit and dry off the rest of the way. I then put on the new nightgown. The temperature outside was cool but not too cool. It was the perfect evening for camping. I had no idea we were camping out tonight, but I love it. I walked over to where Alfred was cooking dinner. On the ground, a blanket was present, along with several chairs. I sat down on the blanket and stretched out. As I was lying backwards, I made sure there were no rocks, snakes, or anything else for that matter. I did not want to lie on something accidentally. This evening was too perfect to be ruined by an accident that could have caused harm. I wanted to enjoy this evening without any nonsense.

Lying on the ground, I see the clouds. One looked like a fluffy bunny. I stared at the sky while Alfred cooked, then he joined me after a few minutes.

Chapter 126

Are you enjoying yourself, little one?

Yes, babe.

Camping outdoors for the first time, 1 relished the fresh air and the peaceful stillnessno training, no ceremonies, no worries. Though aware that a war loomed on the horizon, I cherished being present with him. He kissed me and squeezed my breast, prompting a laugh and a playful smack as he walked away. Knowing he was flirting, I planned to get back at him later. Despite forgetting undergarments, I didn’t care; alone in the woods, the two of us could enjoy ourselves.

He was cooking steak on the grill. It smelled delicious. What else did he have in the cooler? I got up and went and looked. In the cooler were some sausages for the morning. There were even eggs. How on earth could you cook eggs on a grill? Everything was exciting and new for me. This is my first camping trip. We had not gone far from home. The house was a twentyminute walk away. There were also bottles of water, some beer, and chips. There was also a potato salad and condiments. We did not plan on being out there but one night. Tomorrow, we were going to go home and back to the chaos. I did not look forward to going back to the village, back to responsibilities. The only thing I looked forward to was spending time with Junior. I also looked forward to training and learning how to defend myself.

I missed Stacey’s company; she was always present at the house. I also missed Mac in the kitchen. Alfred is a great cook, but Mac seems to be a part of the family. After the war and chaos, we could all go camping. I had no idea how long the war would last. I knew we would all need some restespecially the warriors. I knew a lot went into preparing for war. I have seen it a lot. My father would prepare for it, and there was food to make warriors to greet. I pulled myself from those thoughts. I wanted to be present here and now with Alfred. I missed everyone, and especially my precious Junior. I knew that they were all safe and taken care of. I looked at Alfred.
