The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 143

Chapter 143

Vanessa POV

Mac was already in the kitchen, starting to make coffee. He jumped when he heard me approach and nearly dropped the coffee pot. Composing himself, he bowed and said.

Good Morning, Luna.

Good Morning, Mac.

I wanted a simple breakfast of biscuits and gravy. I got the butter, milk, and sausage from the fridge and the flour from the pantry. Rolling out the dough, I started cutting out biscuits.

Luna, what are you doing?

I’m going to make breakfast.

Alfred will have my head if I let you cook breakfast.

Mac, as your Luna, I’m ordering you to sit down and rest.

Mac sat down at the bar and got himself a cup of coffee. As he sipped, I accidentally spilled flour on myself while making the biscuits. We both laughed. Working quickly, I put the biscuits in the oven and started making the gravy, frying sausage and making the roux. Suddenly, Mac jumped up. Then Alfred’s scent hit meI knew he was at the kitchen door. I glanced at Mac, noticing the biscuits were done and the

gravy was nearly ready.

Mac, I told you to relax.

I got this. The biscuits are in the oven, the gravy is ready.

Luna, I appreciate the break.

However, Alfred is standing at the kitchen door looking at me angrily.

So let him be angry.

I meant it. He could stand behind me and be angry. Mac has cooked for him for years and deserved a day off. Finishing breakfast, I found a hotplate in the pantry to keep the coffee warm and set it up. Mac greeted Alfred, then came over, kissed me, and poured himself coffee before sitting down. I could hear their conversationsomething about how stubborn I am, and how they agree. After breakfast, I left to change for jogging with Stacey. I washed up and went to the closet for my black workout outfit. While changing, Alfred walked in.

Alfred stared at me as I got dressed, his arousal filling the air and stirring my own desire. I quickly finished putting my hair in a messy bun before he crossed the room to kiss me. Although still sore from our many rough love sessions, I wrapped my legs around him as he

lifted me and carried me to bed. We were deep in a heavy makeout session when a knock sounded at the door; Alfred went to answer it

and found his mother. I had no idea she was coming.

Babe, why did you not tell me that your parents were going to be here?

It slipped my mind also, your sisters are going to be here as well today.

  • What did you say?

Your sisters are going to be here.

I don’t want to see them.

It was true, even though they were neglected, they were never tortured or abused like I was. They never stopped it either.

I thought you would be happy to see them again.

Alfred, they were never abused.

  • They never stopped it.

I ran past him and straight into my sisters. I yelled at them.

  • You can leave.

I then ran out the door in a rush and almost ran over Stacey.

Vanessa, what’s wrong?

I explained to her what was going on: my sisters were never abused like I was, and they never tried to stop it. Stacey was upset with Alfred, and I wondered what had happened to my sisters after my parentsimprisonment, though I hadn’t given it much thought before. I

was happy now, and that was all that mattered to me.

Let’s go run.

That sounded like a great idea. We went to the track and ran for a couple of hours. We then went to the gym and worked on sparring. She taught me how to use my hands and hips to put more power into my punch. I learned to block and punch. I felt better after using some of my energy. We then walked back to the house. Stacey’s and Alfred’s parents were still there. I did not know whether my sisters were still there, nor did I care. I walked into the house, and Alfred’s parents were sitting on the couch. They both stood up when I walked in.

Your majesty.

* Vanessa, how was your workout?

It was nice.

Do you mind if I go take a quick shower and change?

That’s fine, darling, make sure to dress to go out to lunch.

:

What do you wear to go to lunch with the king and queen? I then turned towards Alfred and said.

Alfred, would you mind helping me?

He got up and walked me into the bedroom.

Little one, I thought it would be nice for you to see your sisters.

He thought that I would call him into the bedroom for that. That was not even something I had felt on my mind right now.

Babe, I understand why you wanted me to see my sisters, but I never want to see them again.

Little one, that’s going to be difficult since your sister Regina is the alpha of your old pack.

That makes sense. I will show her respect because she is the alpha, but I still do not want to see her socially.

I will show her respect as an alpha; however, I will not participate in social calls with her.

That is all I ask.

The reason I wanted you in here was to ask you what to wear to go to lunch with your parents.

A nice dress is all, little one.

That was a reliefI only needed to wear something nice, not a ball gown. Releasing a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding, I smiled.

Alfred read my mind and chuckled, then walked over and kissed me on the forehead.

I would join in the shower, but you need time to recover, and I have a guest to entertain.

His guests were his parents. I showered, chose a simple fall dress, and left my hair down. Exiting the bedroom, I saw that everyone had

stood up. Stacey was there in a fall dress too. Her mother looked at both of us and spoke.

You both look beautiful.

I still blushed. I was still getting used to being called beautiful.

Alfred, really, you need to tell this woman that she is beautiful a hundred times a day until she believes it.

Mother, I try to convince her every day, but she doesn’t believe me.

She then turned to me.

My sweet Vanessa, start believing what he says.

Yes. Your majesty.

I still struggle with it. However, I knew that I was starting to believe it. I was not going to argue with the queen of the werewolves. That

could get me thrown in prison, even if she is my motherinlaw. I knew better than that.

Are we going to ride in a limo, or would all of you prefer to take your own cars?

Alfred turned to his mother and said.

Mother, if you don’t mind, I would like to drive my Luna.

Very well then.
