The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Vanessa POV

I was shocked when the king and queen arrived. I was not prepared to meet them yet.

Also, who was Alfred to them? Why had they made their way over here so fast? What was

so special about Alfred and his pack? Alfred had left the bedroom to talk to them. Nina,

the maid, had come into the room to help me brush my hair. She put it up in a ponytail. I then made sure my face was clean, and I looked presentable. She then helped me to

Alfred’s office.

I gently knocked on the door, and Alfred answered it. He carried me gently into the office, sat down, and put me on his lap. He then introduced me to the king and queen, who I learned were also his parents. I was upset that he did not tell me he was the prince, and now I’m the princess. What else am I going to find out about my mate? There was so much to learn and so much to do. His mother was charming, and so was his father. We

then went to dinner. I was glad that we would not be eating in the bedroom again. I enjoyed it being just him and me.

But I needed to meet the pack eventually. We went into the dining hall, where the table was covered in plates of food. From one of the tables to the other end. There was juice

and other drinks. There was a ham, and then there was what looked like a duck. Then there were steaks and various fruits and vegetables. It all looked so good. Alfred sat down and placed me on his lap. Then his father pulled out the chair for his mother, and then he got two plates and started to fill them with food.

I was still in shock about the amount of food that there was. I had not noticed that my mouth was watering and that I had a shocking expression. Alfred then cleared his throat, and that brought me back to reality. I then wrote that I could choose from anything here to eat. He said yes. But I did not have to make a decision. He got up from the chair, sat me down on the chair, and got two plates and filled them with food. When he returned with

the plates, they were piled high with food. I could never eat that much.

He then whispered in my ear as he sat down.

Eat as much of it as you can, beautiful.

He knew that I would not be able to eat a bunch. So, I tried everything that was on my plate. He then brought me a cup of juice. It tasted like strawberries. The dining hall was

beautifully decorated. The curtains over the windows were blue, and the wood in the dining hall was made of oak. The table could easily fit twenty to thirty people. After

visiting with his parents for a while and having dessert, we returned to our room. He then asked me to join him in a shower. I was hesitant at first. Then I decided it would be alright. He carried me into the bathroom.

I will be grateful when my legs are strong enough that I can walk on my own. The last whipping I took messed up my lower back. He adjusted the water. I could feel the heat coming from the shower. I was not used to taking hot showers. The only time I could bathe was in the river behind the house. That was icecold yearround. By bathing, I mean getting a bucket, washing clothes; and wiping myself down. My mother would allow me to shower in the house when Alpha Robert came to town. She would hold my head under the shower and almost drown me. Other than that, I was left to my own devices. I made sure

that I never stunk, but that was it.

He helped me undress, picked me up, and stepped into the shower. He slowly let my feet down, came around me, and put himself in the water. He held me by the waist, and the majority of the water ran to him, then to me. At first, I tried to get away from him and get

out of the tub, but he stopped me.

Easy, little one.

I will not let anything happen, and I’m not going to drown you.

I stood before him, leaning slightly against him while the water ran unto us. I had to admit the hot water running over my body felt good. It was not too hot. I could feel the tension in my body going away. My muscles started to relax. I was shocked that the pain was also subsiding because my muscles were relaxing. He then began to wash my hair. He reached down and grabbed the bottle of shampoo. When he squeezed it, it smelled like strawberries. He lathered my hair, and the bubbles were floating around us. I was enjoying him massaging my scalp.

He then reached above his head and grabbed the shower head. I was shocked that it was able to detach. He told me to close my eyes so that the soap did not get into my eyes. I did as he asked. He then quickly rinsed my hair. He then grabbed another bottle of thick pink stuff. What was that? I grabbed the bottle from him and read what it was. It said moisturizing conditioner. What was the conditioner? My mother would only use a bar of soap to wash my hair.

He lathered it into my hair and said we needed to wait a few minutes before we washed it out. He then grabbed a bottle of strawberrysmelling liquid soap. I knew it was body wash because I had seen it in the store. I had never paid attention to what was on the bottle of haircare products because I never bought any of them. He gently washed my back. I could feel the soap burn a little as it got into my cuts, and the sparks going through my body because he was touching it was terrific. I started enjoying this shower. After he washed. my back, he washed my arms and stomach.

He poured a small amount on my hand and told me to wash it between my legs, and I did.

Little one, has anyone ever shown you how to shave your legs and other things?

I shook my head no. What did he mean by shaving my legs and things? What was he talking about? He then shut the water off and put something in the drain to block it. He wrapped a towel around me and had me sit on a chair in the bathtub. The water started to rise, and I could feel my breathing start to elevate.

Little one, you are sitting on a chair, and the water can not get to you because I can not fill the bathtub up that far; otherwise, there would be a huge mess.

He was right.
