Chapter 52
Vanessas POV
We were sleeping peacefully when someone was banging on the door. Alfred got up and answered it. It was Chris, the warehouse was on fire. Alfred left, and then, a few minutes
later, his mother showed up. I was in the room getting dressed when she walked into the
house.
Vanessa, sweetie, where are you?”
“I’m getting dressed, Michelle.”
“I will be out in a minute.”
“That’s fine, dear.”
I could hear her in the kitchen making breakfast. I went to the kitchen.
“Anything I can help with.”
“Yes, can you cut the potatoes?”
19
Yes.”
We finished making breakfast and went to the living room. We sat down to drink some
coffee, and then the front door burst open. I recognized the wolves. They were from the Winterlands pack. Michelle stood up and shoved me behind her. We slowly returned to the kitchen. One of the wolves shifted into human form and, from behind his back, somehow
produced a silver knife. He stabbed the queen in the side. She dropped to the floor. I
thought she was dead. He then grabbed me and started to drag me to the front door. I kicked and screamed. But nobody heard me. The fire engine sirens were way too loud.
I dragged one of my feet to create a trail of sorts so that way they could follow it. I was still fighting them. We got halfway into the forest when he threw me down on the ground. I hit my head and my back on the tree. But I was OK. He then straddled me, and he tried to choke me. I reached over and grabbed a fallen tree branch. I swung it as hard as I could and hit him in the head. Just as he fell off me, I could see Leon Alfred’s wolf. I covered my face to prevent myself from getting scratched. He was on the man. He threw him off me and tore him to shreds. I then shifted to Sasha. I could see through her eyes. She was
furious, and she fought hard against the other wolf.

She had her teeth in the wolf’s neck, and I could taste blood. Then Alfred was in human form. He started to pet Sasha, getting her to release her grip on the wolf’s neck. She finally released him, and then I shifted back to human form and fainted. The next time I woke up, I was in the hospital. The doctor walked in and asked me what my name was and where I was. Those are questions I’m sure that they ask everyone that has hit their head pretty hard. My head hurt from hitting it, and so did my back. But I was more shaken up than anything. What did they want with me?
What was so special about me? That the alpha of the Winterland pack still wanted me. I was about to get out of bed and get dressed in the clothes that someone had brought me
when the nurse walked in..
“1
Luna, you have not been cleared to leave yet.”
Alpha Alfred wants you to stay here until he gets back.”
“I have ordered some lunch for you.”
I still proceeded to get dressed. I did not need to stay in a hospital gown. I was fine, just
TI
some bumps and bruises. I waited until my lunch got there and ate it. The doctor came in.
“You can leave when the alpha gets here.”
”
Call Stacey and have Stacey take me home.”
I did not want to stay in the hospital all day. If Alfred got mad at me, then fine. I wanted to know about the queen.
”
How is the queen?”
She will be fine. We are going to keep her for observation.”
That was a relief to know that she was going to be OK. Stacey came into the room with a wheelchair. What was she doing?
“1
The doctor said you have to ride in one of these when leaving.”
I’m not sure if it was policy or not, but I decided to comply with the doctor. I rode in it until we got out of the front door. Then I jumped out of it. I did not need to be in one.
Alfred carried me everywhere. I knew nothing was wrong with my legs But I also loved it when he did carry me. I loved feeling his arms around me. I was getting into Stacey’s car when Alfred walked around the corner.
T
“Uh oh, I’m in trouble now.”
Why are you in trouble?”
I was supposed to keep you here until he got down doing whatever he was doing.” O
It was not her fault that I had checked out of the hospital. It was mine. I did not want to spend all day here. He looked mad, too. I stepped in front of him before he could open his mouth, and I kissed him. That caught him entirely off guard. He shook his head to clear
”
Stacey, I told.”
I then jumped in.
”
It’s not her fault. It’s mine. I wanted to leave and go home,”
“Alright, she is off the hook.”
“Let’s get you home. I need to talk to you anyway.”
We then walked back to the house. It was nice to walk. It was early evening. The day has gone by fast. I didn’t get to exercise as much as I should have. I wanted to go for a walk and try to regain my strength. The walk home was enjoyable. When we got home, the blood on the floor was cleaned up,, and the door was replaced. Nothing looked like
anything happened. It was all cleaned up, and the dishes had been put away. I did not
even look like we had a date in front of the fire. I know that he has someone that comes
and cleans the house for him.
I wanted a shower and to relax. When I walked into our bedroom, the bed was a swimsuit.
What are we doing tonight? Next to it was a note.
Little One;
Please put this on and meet me at the front door.
I went into the bathroom and changed. He was waiting at the front door. He had put on
some swim trunks. He had towels and a picnic basket.
Babe, what are we doing tonight?”
“I’m going to teach you how to swim.”
I never learned how to swim. It would be nice to learn how to swim. We walked over to a
building that I had seen several times but never stopped by. He unlocked the door. We woke in, and I could not believe my eyes. The pool was huge. It was at least 50 feet deep on the deep end. The shallow end was deeper than I have seen in regular pools. However, everyone here was larger than the average werewolf. I wondered if they had been genetically altered. But I did not know. Alfred was even taller than most. 1
