Alfreds POV

After his car pulled up, I walked out and met him before he could enter the house. I did not want anything waking Vanessa up. She has had a very trying day.

Now let’s go see Kolby.”

I was waiting for him to say that I wanted to see him and give him a piece of my mind. That was not all I was going to do. I had a lot I wanted to say and do. We walked past the house and headed to the jail. The jail was in a separate building from the house, even though there were secret passages to and from all the houses that were connected. But not everyone knows about them–only the ones I truly trusted. We are hidden from a lot of the world. So, for people to find us, it is only by invitation. We are hidden in the shadow of the mountain. We get sunlight, but shadows also hide us.

When we got to the jail, I entered first, then Robbie. The guards knew what to do. We then went to Kolby’s cell.

“LET ME GO.”

He yelled through the bars, I laughed because there was no chance of that happening. I had other plans for him. I was going to torture him and get my answers. The guards pulled a big metal table into the hall. Then it took six of us to get him on the table. After we got him on the table, I had Chris strap him down to it. We then wheeled the table into a room that looked like an operating room. It was here that the rumors that I was cruel were born. This is where I torture my enemies. I had them positioned on the table in the middle of the room, and I went to put on a plastic suit to catch the blood.

I was looking forward to this. I needed to let out some anger. After preparing myself, I then went out and pulled my table of instruments over near Kolby.

Now, Kolby, I will only ask nicely once.”

“What does the alpha want with Vanessa?”

Go fuck yourself.”

I then proceeded to cut his shirt off. I then took a scalpel and pressed it into his chest and cut him across the chest. He started to scream and fight against his restraints. I then took the scalpel and cut one of his fingers off.

“Now are you going to talk?“.

“FUCK YOU.”

Again, wrong answer.”

I then cut off another finger. He continues to scream curse words at me. I ask several times what the alpha wants from Vanessa, and he continues to be difficult. After cutting all his fingers off, I let Robbie take over. He uses magic to get him to talk. We discover that the alpha wants Vanessa to use her powers to take over the world. He plans on killing off the humans and enslaving them. But why would he do that? Humans aren’t generally a problem. They kept to themselves mostly. Then it dawned on me that he wanted to control everything, including the supernatural world.

I then slit Kolbys throat and let him bleed out. I have had enough. Chris was surprised by my actions. I would have cut every finger off even if he talked. He touched my Luna and hit her. She had a bruise on her face, and she was healing fast, but I was not impressed with what he did. I then went to the bunk house and took a shower. I was not going back to Vanessa with blood all over me. I met my father in my office and told him what I found out. He disagreed with my interrogation methods. But they mainly worked. He said that he would summon more warriors from the palace.

He has several warriors and guards. I will inherit all that when I become king. After speaking with him and coming up with a plan, I went back to Vanessa. She was still sleeping. I think she is having a nightmare. She is thrashing around in bed, saying no. She then sits up in bed and screams. I rush to her, and she immediately crawls into my lap and cries. She was crying and shaking. I hold her like that until she quits crying and stops shaking.

“What was it about?”

She looks at me like a deer caught in headlights. I knew she did not want to tell me the

details. She only said one word.

“Thomas.”

She did not need to tell me anymore. That’s all the information that I needed. I did not want the details. I already knew all the details that I needed to know. It broke my heart that she would go through that. What hurt the most is that I could not make the nightmares stop. I know that she will have them for her whole life. She is so young and has so many years ahead of her. I continued to hold her. She finally fell back to sleep. But she woke up several more times. It was three in the morning when she finally fell asleep and stayed asleep.

It was not long before my alarm went off. It was six in the morning already. I had things to do today. I had to check on the progress of the repairs around the territory and make sure that the walls were being built. She was still asleep. She had her arm draped over me, and I carefully moved it. It did not wake her up. I was thrilled that it did not. I then got dressed in the dark. The sun was not out yet. I then went to the office. Marsha had coffee ready. I was grateful. I sat down at my desk and drank my coffee. She also had donuts in

the office.

I was grateful for that. I checked the reports and then went to the bank statements. Everything seemed in order. I then went to talk to Jaques about her dress. I want to do the mating ceremony tomorrow. Even if we have to skip some things, I’m willing to do that. I want to do it, and then I want to take her to my secret cabin, where only Chris knows where it is. She would be safe there. Let the staff know to go shopping for supplies. I will have them put it in one of the vans and have Chris take it to the cabin. She needed to get away from all this.

I know that it seems selfish to take a vacation when there is a war looming, but Vanessa needed to get away. She was never going to heal properly if she got hurt or kidnapped. I then made a quick trip around the territory to see how things were going. I then met my commander, Reggie. He was one of the best warriors I had and a great commander.
