The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 76

Chapter 76

Alfreds POV

82

Later, when we got to the door of the house, it had been broken into. Looking at her while

she was drenched, you could make out her curves, and her breasts were intoxicating. I

hated to leave her. I went into the house, and all the furniture was turned over, and there

were scratches all over the walls. There was also, I note, left in blood.

Give me Vanessa, or your pack will die.

There was absolutely no way that I would hand over Vanessa. I walked back out onto the porch and then took her over to the pack house. I knew she would be safe there with all my warriors. I had made sure she was surrounded by warriors. So when she was in my mind, screaming for help, I was beyond pissed. I rushed to her room. She was naked on the bed, and someone was trying to choke her out. No doubt to make it easier to transport her. Seeing her naked in another man’s arms pissed me off. I lost all control of myself. I ripped out the man’s throat. There was blood squirting everywhere.

Vanessa was starting to lose consciousness. I needed to quit playing around with these people and get her to the doctor. I finished killing the bastard and the other wolves that were in the room. I had a security breach, and I will be taking care of whoever was responsible. Robert had gotten away again, and he would pay, but now was not the time. I picked up Vanessa and carried her to the house. I remember that she was tired of being in the hospital, but I will have the doctor tend to her at the house. I called Doctor Moser to come to the house. He was there within seconds.

He ushered me out of the room. He had all sorts of machines with him. He hooked

Vanessa up to all of them. He then drew her blood and ran some blood tests.

She just needs rest. Now her wounds will heal.

I was grateful that the doctor said that. I went into the room, and she still had marks on her neck where he had choked her out. She was resting, and I lay my head on the edge of the bed and waited for her to wake up. I put my chin in my hand and looked at her. She was propped up, her hands resting at her sides, and she was sleeping. Her hair was tucked behind her head, and she looked amazing. She was resting peacefully. She then woke up and tried to get up. I stopped her. Then, afterward, I applied the medicine that the doctor told me to put on her wounds. I could tell it was relieving her pain. I then bathed her in

bed. Touching her like that felt good. Caring for my injured mate gave me purpose.

Other than running a pack and preparing to become king of the werewolves. I was not looking forward to that. I wanted to stay an alpha and just run my pack, but we are all forced to do things we really don’t want to do sometimes. I will do what needs to be done. She then tried to explain to me what happened when she fell asleep at the pack house. I already knew what had happened. Three of the guards who were supposed to be protecting her let him and his men in. I had everyone out scouting and doing patrols. That will never happen again.

Because she would never be left alone without my protection or Chris’s protection. Stacey was with me, trying to help. But that is no excuse. My Luna was hurt again on my watch. She must think I am a terrible alpha and an even worse protector. I then pulled her close, and she started to cry. I knew she thought I was mad at her, but I was not. It was not her fault. She finally stopped crying and then laid her head in my lap. She was relaxing and was about to fall asleep when the doctor came in.

Good news: she is going to be alright.

Good, now that things are settled for a bit, we can go on our honeymoon.

She was shocked that I said honeymoon. I knew that Robert had escaped, and there was no telling when he would show up again. I understood that as long as she was there, she was in danger. If I took her away from here, he would have to stop his attacks and try to find her. My cabin in the woods was almost impossible to find unless you knew where it was. Also, it was protected by magic. Therefore, it is challenging to locate it. She wanted to go for a walk, which I was willing to do. We got up and she got dressed. After we got ready to go. We then walked to the front door.

When we opened the door, my beta, Chris, was standing there. He was covered in blood.

Luna Alpha Robert is attacking.

Get him to the doctor now and get her somewhere safe.

NO.

I’m GOING TO HELP.

My stubborn Luna was willing to help. However, she would be in even greater danger. I

know that Sasha and she are strong. But Robert would use her against me. I can not live with it if she gets hurt again. This is nothing I’m willing to debate with her. So I picked her up and carried her to the safe room. When I let her down, she kicked me in the shin and ran behind me and closed the door. I banged my fist against the door so hard that it caused my hand to bleed. Finally, I got tired of banging my fist against the door and broke through it.

She was still standing behind it. She backed up slowly and then ran up the stairs. This was not the time for her stubbornness. She’s going to get herself killed. I was not going to allow that. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could. I reached the top before she did. She ran straight into my arms. I threw her over my shoulder and then carried her to the tower that had been fortified against anything. Even witchespowers could not penetrate it. After I opened the door to where she was going to be kept, I dropped her on the bed and turned around and walked out.

She ran after me. I closed the door quickly and locked it. Stacey and Tj were there.

She doesn’t leave, and no one goes in.

Yes, Alpha.

I then stormed away and down the stairs. If she got out of there, she was going to be in trouble. She may have the power to stop whatever is going on, but she is not going to get hurt. I made sure to put her in the room with the barred window. So she could not get out of the window. She could not climb down them.
