Chapter 89
Vanessa POV
After we got back to the house, I tried desperately to hide my anxiety, forcing a calm I didn’t feel. When Alfred yelled at me, my heart hammered in my chest, sending a wave of cold fear through me. Shaken, I sank onto the couch and obeyed quietly, lifting my foot for him to examine as instructed.
“It’s twisted, little one.”
“Thank the moon goddess.”
He wrapped it, then went to the kitchen and returned with an ice pack. He gently sat down near my foot and propped it up on his leg. Then he gently put the ice pack on. At first, the weight of the ice pack was a little uncomfortable, but after a minute, the pain subsided. After a few minutes, he pulled my pant leg up to examine it more closely. It was bruised but healing. He gently massaged my ankle. It felt good. I wanted to know who those wolves were. Being gifted by the moon goddess turns out to be a pain in the butt. I did not wish for the powers she gave me, but she gave them to me, and I will have to make the best of the situation.
My ankle healed quickly. I will have to be careful, but it was better.
“Alfred, I want to do some training today.”
”
Baby, we are on our honeymoon.”
“I know, but I want to train.”
“Alright, go change into some workout clothes.”
I went into the bedroom and changed. When I came out, Alfred had just taken off his shirt. I walked over to him and kissed him. We then went out to the backyard. I had not been out there since we arrived. In the backyard, there was a punching bag. Additionally, an obstacle course was set up. I was surprised. Did he train when he came here by himself? I assumed that he would need something to do. We started by running laps around the backyard. It was not like the track at home. But it was still big enough to run. We then did the obstacle course.

Chapter 89
First, I was running between the tires, barely lifting my legs high enough to avoid tripping. Then the train track parts came again, and I struggled through those. My arms are weak, so the monkey bars were difficult. Crawling on my stomach under the ropes left me exhausted and sweaty. Afterward, Alfred carried me to the hot tub since I could barely walk.
“The water will help with the soreness of your muscles.”
He then sat me down on the edge of the hot tub and helped me remove my clothes. He then took off his clothes. He then got in the hot tub himself and then helped me get in. He gently sat me down on his lap. He pulled me close to him and whispered into my ear.
“You did well, little one.”
“Thanks.”
That was all I could say. I didn’t understand how I performed well. But he said I did. This is my first time doing the obstacle course. It was challenging to say the least. Now I understand how the warriors must have been so hungry and tired. They would come in from training and act like they were starving, even though I knew that they had eaten breakfast. They would reek of body odor. I got used to it while I worked in the kitchen at my old pack. I was sitting sideways. He then turned me around and started to massage my shoulders. They were sore, and I hadn’t even lifted weights. All I did was use muscles I had never used before.
Running, crawling, and jumping were difficult. I never realized that using muscles I have never used would hurt so badly. I knew I would get better with practice. All the warriors in the pack have been practicing since they were kids. I have seen kids ten and above out on the track and field practicing during their physical activity during school hours. I never went to school, but one of the maids in the house, with whom I worked, taught me to read and write. Which I was grateful for. She also tried to teach me math, but I couldn’t grasp it. All the numbers just confused me. They also gave me nightmares. I knew it was silly to have nightmares over numbers, but I did.
“Alfred, I would like to get some education.”
Hush now, quit thinking, clear your mind, and enjoy our time.”
He did have a point; I needed to quit thinking and enjoy spending time with him. I closed my eyes and started to relax as he gave me a massage. It felt so good. At one point, I fell

asleep. The next time I woke up, I was wrapped in a towel and in our bed. The sun had set, and I could smell that he was cooking. What are we having for dinner? I looked at the clock, and it read seven o’clock in the evening. The day had gone by fast. I was shocked that it was already that time. We had a hectic day. I don’t think we even ate lunch. Now it was dinner time. I got out of bed and got dressed. I just put on a nightgown and went to
the kitchen. Alfred was standing over the stove.

That smells delicious.”
We are having hamburgers.”
“Do you think you can cut up a tomato to put on our burgers?”
That was an easy task. I enjoyed helping in the kitchen. I cut the tomato, onions, and lettuce. I then looked in the refrigerator for some ketchup and mustard. I found it.
Little one, there are chips in the pantry if you want to get a bag out.”
“I will get it.”
I went over to the pantry and opened the door. When I opened the pantry door, I found a jewelry box on the shelf in front of the chips. It was opened, and in the box was a necklace. The chain was gold. Then flowers started about halfway down the chain. In the middle of the flowers, it looked like there were diamonds. It was a necklace that most Lunas wore. I took a deep breath and picked up the box. I slowly turned around. Alfred was standing in front of the stove with a huge smile on his face. I had tears running down my cheeks. I didn’t think he would give me the Lunas necklace.
“Did you think that you would not have one?”
He then walked up to me, got down on one knee.
“Will you be my Luna forever?”
Omg yes I will.”
He stood up, took the necklace out of the box, walked behind me, and then placed the necklace around my neck. He struggled for a minute to open the clasps. Once he was able to get it opened, he latched it on. He then walked around to the front of me and kissed me. He then grabbed the plate with the burgers. As we were sitting down to eat, there was
