The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 99

Chapter 99

Alfreds POV

87

After getting her two sandwiches and leaving her to rest, I went to my office. I had sent Stacey into the room to keep her company and to watch over her. However, a few minutes later, Stacey came into my office.

Hey, do we have current maps in the library?

Yes,

Why?

No reason.

She then left my office. I knew they were up to something. Vanessa and Stacey wanted a current map of the witchesforest. We have dozens of maps. Hopefully, she will take the liberty to pretend not to find one. I hope she is smart enough to do that. I knew she wanted to please her Luna. I understand that. But I am the alpha. She needs to be afraid

of me and my anger. She is my sister, but when it comes to protecting the Luna, it is all that matters. She knows the penalty if anything happens to the Luna. Regardless of whether she is my sister, she could be put to death if anything happens to the Luna. Vanessa would hate herself if that were to happen. I got the map I had in my office of the

witchesforest.

He would probably be in the center, where he was well protected. It would not be easy to reach him. I still have not heard from my scouts, which was odd. The two I sent were the best I had. The fact that they had not reported in. I tried to mindlink them. Reggie responded. He explained that TJ was on his way back. Reggie had stayed behind to keep suspicion off them. I was pleased with this information. I was not in the mood to deal with any more delays, especially now that Vanessa is pregnant. I needed to break the curse. Alpha babies grow faster than any other baby.

I have thought of a name, and I would like to call him Mark. However, I will have to ask Vanessa how she feels about it. It’s a topic for discussion. We will discuss that and more. I want to know what she thinks she’s doing, trying to plan something without me. She has no idea how to prepare an attack or anything like that. It will take a lot. Especially depending on what TJ reports. I was looking over the map of the forest when there was a

knock on my office door.

Come in.

Alpha.

It is TJ.

I have a report.

He explained that Tyler was in the middle of the forest. He was surrounded and protected by some of the most powerful witches. He is the most powerful witch there is. I have no idea how we are going to get to him. I need to sit down with the general and the other highranking officers in my army.

Thank you, Tj, I will need all the officers in the war room in an hour.

Now is the time to find Stacey and discover her plans. I walked to the library. She was sitting at a table with a bunch of maps. She had a map open to the witch’s forest and was staring at it. She heard me approach. She turned her head and gave a weak smile.

Is this for your Luna?

Yes.

I was going to take it to her, but changed my mind.

I know I’m refusing an order from my Luna.

Stacey, you are right to refuse an order from Vanessa.

She smiled at that. She was right. She got up and left the library. She left the map on the table. She knew the penalty for putting the Luna in danger. She is smarter than she sometimes looks or acts. I looked over the map in the library. It was slightly different from the one I had in my office. The one I had was outdated. I took the map back to my office and locked it in the drawer where I kept the gun. Only Marsha and I knew about the gun. Where is Marsha? She still had a job to do. I will ask TJ where she is. She might still think that Vanessa and I are on our honeymoon. It did not matter. The fewer people in and out of the house was a good thing right now.

It put Vanessa in less danger, and there was less chaos. When I walked out of the office, I

could smell dinner cooking. It smelled delicious. I knew it was spaghetti. I loved his homemade sauce. When I walked into the living room, Stacey and Vanessa were in there. I was going to try to play dumb and not get Stacey in trouble.

How are you beautiful ladies doing?

After all this time, I found it cute that Vanessa still blushed when I called her beautiful. You would think she would have gotten tired of it by now. Stacey is gorgeous because she is my sister, and as a sister, she is beautiful. Stacey then asked.

What do you want?

I held up my hands in surrender. I want my mate. I’m hungry, and dinner smells good. I then smiled a wicked smile and said.

Nothing.

Stacey then smiled and said.

Really, big brother.

She knew what I was after. She got up and stretched.

I guess my turn to babysit is over.

I knew she was joking about babysitting. Vanessa laughed at the term babysitting. She got up and hugged Stacey. We said good night, and she left. I then reached out my hand to Vanessa. I helped her off the couch and then led her to the kitchen. It was not a romantic dinner or anything like that, but it felt good to lead her. Mac had sat at the table. There was a large bowl of salad and garlic bread. Noodles and sauce. He has never mixed the noodles and sauce. I liked it better that way. Then I could determine how much sauce to put on it. I did not care for too much sauce. I never had. Vanessa, on the other hand, probably never had spaghetti before. She looked at what was on the table in astonishment.

Are we expecting company for dinner?

I understood her confusion. There was enough food on the table to feed at least ten people. Mac always made a lot of food. I hope he took some out for himself. I excused myself to go to the kitchen. I wanted to make sure he was eating. He was not hurting for

food. In fact, he could afford to skip a meal or two. However, no member of my pack was ever going to starve. I would never allow that. I have a few families where the father has gotten hurt, and the mother is struggling to pay the bills and put food on the table. I always make sure to get those people groceries. They send me a list, and I then order their groceries.

The father was injured in a battle a while back and lost his leg. I need to go check on

them tomorrow and make sure they don’t need anything. 2
