Chapter 46
Dahlia
Preparing for this day took a lot of time and energy but now it was finally time. My heart pounds with excitement and I can’t help but grin at the boy. “Are you ready, dear?”
The boy stirs and looks up at me his hazel eyes blank but he nods. “… Yes… I’m ready, mother.” I grin happily when he calls. me that. As it should be! Finally, he’s home where he belongs.
“Stay right here until I call for you. Gotta make a grand entrance!” I say happily. Once he finds behind a tree, I make my way out to everyone. Tristian is giving everyone the rundown of what happened at the party. This is the best time to introduce him to the pack while everyone is gathered.
“Oh great! Everyone is still here.” I say cheerfully making everyone’s attention go on me. I bask in it too as it’s what I deserve! I stop in front of him and grin at his surprised expression. “I have a huge surprise for everyone! Especially you, Tristian.” I give him a big kiss and feel him freeze. I pull back seeing that dazed look on his face. “It’s very big too so I hope you like it as much as I do!”
Tristian hesitates before he starts to use that coaxing tone as if I’m a two-year-old. “I don’t think this is the right time, Dahlia. We need to come up with a plan to find that missing pup.”
Angry rushes through me. He’s not missing! He’s right here! I shake off my anger and smile. “This is very important and will be worth everyone’s while.” His eyes flash in annoyance and I continue as he opens his mouth to speak. “Come on out, little one! Don’t be shy!”
The boy peeks out from where he’s hiding before he makes his way over to me. I hear gasps from the pack as it’s pretty obvious who the child’s father is.
Tristian is in complete shock and I can see his hands shaking. “W-what is the meaning of this? Who is this, Dahlia?” He chokes out as he stares at the boy.
I wrap my arm around the boy and smile as I give my dramatic speech to him and the pack. “I just knew in my heart that there was no way I lost my baby! They must have been switched out.” I smile at the boy and giggle. “Isn’t he beautiful, love? This is our missing pup! Our little Keith.”
Tristian lets out an airy gasp as I say that name. Keith for a boy and Kelly for a girl. We’ve been mourning Kelly all this time when we never even had her. It was Keith all along switched and stolen from us. He steps forward and kneels to his level with tears in his eyes.
As Tristian hugs Keith, the boy hardly responds. He stays still with that same blank stare. “You’re alive…” He whispers and holds him tight. “You’re my son… my Keith.”
With Keith giving him no reaction, I speak up cheerfully. “Don’t worry! He’ll warm up to you in no time.” He looks up at me and looks ready to say something before his expression changes to weariness.
However, I don’t care as I smirk watching the two of them. Everything is going as planned and it’s all thanks to that wickedly charming and s*xy stranger I met days ago.

-Days Earlier-
“Get out,” The boy growls before shouting again. “Get out!!!” He throws the plate at me but misses by a lot. However, I feel some pain and look down to see cuts on my ankle. “I hate you!!! Go die already!!!”
I see red and strike the boy hard. How dare he be so ungrateful! Daisy didn’t teach him manners! “Watch your tone with me.” I snap holding him by the back of his head my hand tangled in his hair. “I’ll teach you how to properly behave. Mark my
words.”

I punch him in the gut before throwing him against the wall. As my anger fades, I watch as he gasps for air and cries for a moment. Guilt runs through me and I clench my fists before spinning on my heels and slamming the door shut.
