Chapter 45
Chapter 45
Tristian
As we make it home, I lose sight of Dahlia. Whatever surprise she has can wait anyway since I have to give everyone the rundown. Whether she wants it or not, I’m going to help Daisy find her pup! Then I can earn some sort of gratitude from her and she won’t hate me. Just another step to getting her back.
I still feel enraged at the thought of her carrying another man’s pups but I’ll have to accept them either way. She’s my true mate and I want nothing more than to make her mine right now. I have to earn her trust and love slowly though or I’ll never
get what I want.
“Alright, everyone! Listen up!” I call out as my pack gathers around. It is rather slow but improvements have been made. The biggest change is how Omegas are treated. They do get bullied sometimes but punishments are also in place. Nothing big
but it’s a start.
“During the party, a rouge attacked three members of Crimson Moon: an adult and two pups. They also kidnapped one of the pups as well.” I begin and hear murmurs of outrage from the pack. Of course, anyone would be when it concerned a young pup. Even if it’s a rouge, we’d do anything in our power to help one out.
“It was their Luna’s son that was taken. I vowed to help in any way possible to bring him home. Therefore, I look forward to your complete focus on this task.” I add. Before I can continue, I’m interrupted.
“Is it true that our Daisy is Crimson Moon’s Luna?” Freda asked. She’s getting more gray in her hair each passing year. “And that our Sammy is also part of the pack?”
This stirs a surprised reaction from the pack and I can’t help but grit my teeth. “Yes, that is correct. It is Daisy’s son who was kidnapped. Samuel is also a member of Crimson Moon but he only joined for Daisy I’m sure.” My tone is harsher than I mean it to be.
Freda only meets my eyes without wavering. Being as old as she is makes her bold but I can’t bring myself to punish her. A big lesson I’ve learned is that having her wisdom and experience helps the pack more than her being put in her place and silenced.
“Anyway! We must find and bring the pup back home safe and sound. He’s only seven so he won’t survive on his own. The longer he’s missing, the worse off he will be. I do hope everyone will cooperate according.” I finish and watch as my pack talks to one another.
I know they will do everything they can to help out. However, the gossiping about my motive comes on fast and it ticks me off.
“So it is true…”
“He’s working hard to get Daisy back I guess?”
“I feel sorry for our Luna… poor Dahlia must be so angry.”
“Wait, if she’s the Luna of Crimson Moon, then she has another mate?”
“Could it be a second chance one? Or is it chosen?”
“What Alpha would choose an Omega as their mate to lead their pack?”
“Tristian looks so mad about it too…”
“He did it to himself. He made his bed so he must lie on it now.”
That last voice is Freda’s. As I look her way, I see that she’s looking right at me. She wanted me to hear those words and it honestly hurts. She hasn’t said anything won’t either. I treated Daisy like crap and she ran away. It was my fault.

I sigh and shake my head. I will get her back. She was meant to be mine first. “Oh great! Everyone is still here.” Dahlia’s cheerful tone breaks my concentration.
When I look at her, I’m surprised to see how bright-eyed Dahlia is. She hasn’t been this way since we lost our daughter. A pang of pain runs through me but I shake it off. Thinking about her won’t bring her back.
“I have a huge surprise for everyone! Especially you, Tristian.” Dahlia stops in front of me and gives me a big kiss. I freeze up and feel startled and dazed. “It’s very big too so I hope you like it as much as I do!” Those blue eyes of hers remind me of sapphire shimmering in the moonlight.
What’s gotten into her? I hesitate. “I don’t think this is the right time, Dahlia,” I say cautiously. I don’t want to set her off in any way as our relationship is already rocky. “We need to come up with a plan to find that missing pup.”
Dahlia’s eyes darken for a moment then brighten up again. “This is very important and will be worth everyone’s while.” I feel annoyed that she’s ignored me. I open my mouth to speak but she continues. “Come on out, little one! Don’t be shy!”
