I walk behind Aiden and Daisy as they talk and bicker with each other. I want to see this for myself. I want to see Moonlight Pack see just who they lost by treating her so poorly. Excitement runs through my heart as I picture the looks on Tristian and Dahlia’s faces.

I want them to what they lost. I want them to regret and relish the idea of them begging for her to return. I know nothing will beat her love for Aiden sof can have the satisfaction. The thought makes me feel a little warmer but it’s bearable. I feel eyes on me but ignore them as i walk.

“Entering now is the Alpha and Luna of Crimson Moon!” An Omega from Royal Pack announces making all the attention go on my Alpha and Luna. “Welcome Aiden and Daisy Rivers!”

The gasps of shock that ring through the air are music to my ears. As I walk inside, I spot both Tristian and Dahlia looking at the two with a mix of shock, horror, and rage. Dahlia bites one of her nails which I see as a nervous habit.

When coming tonight, the one thing I worried about was seeing Dahlia again. She was my first mate after all and while we rejected each other, that bond could still be in place. As I watch her now, I’m relieved by the fact I feel nothing when I see her. She’s nothing to me and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. I can only assume Sunny accepted Victor’s rejection too.

“Don’t stare at her.” I jump hearing some growl next to me. I turn my head and see Peter standing next to me. “Don’t give her the time of day either. She’s not worth it.” His amber eyes lock with mine making me feel uneasy. One is turning a faint red meaning his wolf is surfacing.

“I’m not,” I mutter and look away. “I don’t feel anything for her even with her being my first mate. I’m merely relieved by it because I hate her so much shrug. “Shouldn’t you be mingling with the other Betas? I thought we weren’t on speaking terms again.”

Peter’s mood flips like a switch. One moment is wonderful company and a decent friend and the next he’s pissy and annoyed with me. I don’t know if he’s bipolar or what but I wish he’d just stay consistent.

“I could. But there’s no place I’d rather be.” Peter’s tone makes me frown as I look back at him. His eyes are warm and friendly once again. How exhausting but I find myself relaxing.

“I don’t know what you mean,” I say honestly and look around. I spot a former bully of Moonlight, Grayson but before I left, he had changed for the better. His mate softened him up and made him mature unlike his party–boy self before. “I’m just looking forward to the main event.” I motion over to our

leaders.

Peter nods and chuckles. “I smell jealousy for sure…” he trails off as the confrontation begins. He then smirks. “Heh… pathetic.” He mutters and I know he’s talking about Tristian but I can’t seem to focus on it.

The heat in my body keeps getting worse and worse. Am I getting sick? I undo a button on my shirt and swallow hard. Maybe I just need some water. I walk over to a table and grab some water to drink. As I do, I hear footsteps and look up. My eyes lock with a set of blood–red ones

The man in front of me is wearing a butler uniform. His hair is long, wavy, and a strange red color. “You seem uncomfortable.” The man’s voice is sweet as

velvet and it makes me shudder but not in a good way. “You poor little pup…” he takes my water and replaces it with a glass. “That should help. Drink

up…”

I find myself unable to refuse as I take a drink unable to break eye contact. The drink is sickeningly sweet yet tasty too. Once I finish the drink, the man takes it back and dips his head. “Enjoy your night…” with that he disappears into the crowd.

I snap out of my trance when he turns his back and I stand there dazed and confused. Why did I follow his every word? How weird. I shake my head and drink some water dismissing the man. He must be a Royal Pack butler based on his uniform.

I look back at the big show and hear Tristan call/Daisy ‘baby‘. I scoff and gag since it’s just so cringy. As I drink, I find myself feeling thirstic, making me frown. What is this? Why won’t it go away? I far my face with a free hand and groan faintly in annoyance.

“I have exciting news and Lean’t wait any longer!” I hear Daisy call out loudly and look up. Her purple eyes are sparkling with pride. “I just found out a few days ago but I’m expecting twin pups! Her voice nearly squeals from excitement.

I blink at this news and find my heart pounding fast. Daisy and Aiden are having pups? How wonderful! However, I can’t stand up to congratulate my best

friend as I feel the world start to spin and my ears ring.

This heat is making me feel strange. Feeling cornered and hot, I find myself rushing out of the party. I hear a voice call out to me but I don’t look back i find myself panting out hot air and all around me are trees.

Where am I? I don’t stop making though wanting to find a water source to jump into. It’s not hot enough outside for me to get a heat strože šol have no idea what’s wrong with me. All I know is that it started this morning and now… it’s so much worse.

I soon stop at a tree and lean over it panting heavily, I want to rip off my clothes right now but can’t bring myself to do it. Why am I do feel this way? Vy can’t I think straight?
