Chapter 65
Tristian
As I stand out in the hallway with Keith, I can’t help but scoff at his timid behavior. A reat man wouldn’t act like a coward around his father. Just because he’s going on eight years old doesn’t mean he can act like a toddler. It may not be fair but he’s the perfect outlet to get out my frustrations and anger. After all, he is Dahlia’s son too.

When Dahlia announced she was pregnant to the whole pack, everyone naturally congratulated us. Another pup after having our first return was seen as blessing. Everyone celebrated and Dahlia couldn’t be happier. However, we both knew the truth. It wasn’t mine and Dahlia was nothing more than a cheating wh’r‘.
As Dahlia lets out screams of pain, Keith flinches and shrinks away while I merely get a thrill out of it. Serves her right. Perhaps something will happen this time around too. Or she’ll lose this one too! That would be hilarious for sure.
This thought makes me frown. When did I become so twisted and cruel? Where did things go wrong? I have no idea. I run a hand through my hair and look at Keith again. I see the fear in his eyes and bite my
lip. “… Everything’s going to be fine. Don’t worry about her.” I manage to mutter out.
Keith looks at me with wide hazel eyes. I’m still so startled by his appearance every time. How can he look so much like me yet not look like me all at the same time? He reminds me of… Daisy honestly. I guess it’s because she’s his aunt but it gets rather haunting at times.
“Y–yeah… I know… J–Jim explained it to me a while ago… sort of anyway…” Keith says and holds himself. “I’m just… thinking of happier thoughts… to keep myself calm.” He looks away and closes his eyes. As he mumbles softly to himself, I catch the word ‘ebony‘
I tilt my head curiously. Is he thinking of the wood or… is that a name? Is he remembering something? Remembering how I woke him up makes me feel guilty. He looked as if he was having a nightmare trying to reach out to someone. Is he starting to remember his past?
“What… did you dream about, Keith?” I ask and he tenses up. “If it’s too hard, then don’t push yourself. You looked like you were locked in a nightmare is all.” I’ve been a terrible father, haven’t I?
Keith swallows hard. “I–I honestly don’t remember it…” he admits and looks down. “It started happy… I think… then it got bad. Someone’s calling out to me and I’m trying to get to her but… I don’t remember.” He shakes his head. “Only a name but… it’s just because of her hair and eye color…”
I frown as I take in this information. So this Ebony girl is someone important to her? Someone with black hair and black eyes? I can’t recall anyone like that… is she an adult? Or a kid like him?
Before I can ask him about it, Dahlia lets out one last scream which is followed by the sound of a newborn crying. I clench my fists as I recall the first time she gave birth. Our child never cried… I look over to Keith who looks curious now. Why didn’t he cry after being born?
As Jim steps out, there’s a smile on his face. He doesn’t know what Dahlia has done so he too believes the baby is mine. “A lovely baby girl! Come and see her. I’m sure she’d love to meet her proud father and loving big brother.”
It takes everything in me not to let out a loud laugh. Proud father huh? I wonder if the best rd she’s screwing around with is somewhere close. What i wouldn’t give to beat him to a bleed pulp. “Sure, sure… let’s go, Keith,” I mutter my mood soured now.
Keith tenses but follows behind me keeping his eyes on the floor. “Y–yes, father…” his attitude annoys me yet again. Whatever… if I didn’t know any better, then I’d think he was a lowly Omega instead of my heir/I shake my head and look forward.
Dahlia is lying in bed holding a small bundle in her arms. A warm smile graces her face and I see nothing but love and adoration coming from her. She’s covered in sweat and looks so tired which is a big difference from the first time she gave birth. Back then, she looked so pale from blood loss. She looked like a corpse instead of a person.
“There you two are!” Dahlia looks up and smiles happily. “Come here, come here… meet little Gracie. Isn’t she just the most perfect little pup ever?” She named her without even asking me huh? I guess she’s not even going to pretend and try to pawn her off on me then.
I stay still with narrowed eyes while Keith hesitates before walking forward. As he looks at the baby, he tilts his head. “She’s so little…” he murmurs. “Was I that small before? How weird… she looks just like you, mother.”
Dahlia beams and nods. “Right?! She’s going to be just as beautiful as me when she grows up.” She says proudly before looking at me. Come on,

I smirk. ‘Her‘ Gracie… she’s drawing a line already. What an arrogant b*tch she is. “Of course…” Ewalk over nothing but rage boiling my blood and look
down at the child.
On her head is a dusting of blonde hair. As Gracie squirms against her mother, I can see the resemblance already. She does look like a dny copy of her mother. “Isn’t she adorable?!” Dahlia asks happily and pushes her into my arms. “Hold her and you’ll fall in love!”
1 scoff at this notion but I can’t just drop the pup and get hurt. So I cradle her stiffly and look down at her. She looks like any other pup I’ve seen before. Sure, she’s cute but she’s merely a b’st’rd child. Why do I… then she opens her eyes and looks up at me.
