Daisy

The world around me is a blur of green, brown, and black. My legs carry me as I push forward screaming from pain but I don’t care. flothing will dop me. Not when my pup is hurt. Not when I haven’t seen my pup in so long.

Peter’s words echo loudly in my mind. ‘Come to Royal Pack quick! We have Skylar!‘ He may have said so much more but none of it matters anymore. Being woken up soon after going to sleep annoyed me but only for a moment.

“Daisy!” Aiden calls after me. He’s racing after me. Olivia is coming with us as well but I don’t know why. After tuning everything else out, I’m blinding running to my pup. “Daisy, wait!” He grabs my arm and pulls me close.

I growl and squirm. “Let me go!” My voice sounds off since Naomi is constantly trying to take over. “Let me go!” I grab his arm and throw him over my shoulder. I glare as Aiden easily flips and lands on his feet.

“Daisy, calm down. You need to know what you’re walking into so that you don’t snap.” Aiden says firmly and raises his hands. “There’s a reason why Olivia is coming with us. I don’t want Naomi to go on a frenzy… I don’t want you to scare Skylar or Ebony either.”

Aiden’s voice is sickeningly calm and it only ticks me off. I will never hate him for real but right now, I hate his guts. However, I take a deep breath and calm down. I know deep down that he’s right. However, I just want to get to my pup now! “Fine… hurry up and speak,” I say practically ordering him

around.

Aiden nods and takes a deep breath. “Ebony is the one who came across him. Skylar… he’s badly hurt. Peter wouldn’t send me a mental image of him so f can only assume it’s bad. He’s unconscious with their doctor tending to him.”

I clench my fists at this news. I had a feeling this was happening to him but getting the confirmation? A snarl escapes my lips and Aiden nods his eyes flashing. Ash must be wanting to take over as well. Aiden is just as angry as I am but is holding himself together. I take a deep breath and nod. “Continue please…” I say in a softer tone.

Aiden nods. “I’m sure this goes without saying but just remain calm. As much as we want to hug him close, he may be afraid of any sudden movements. We can ask him what happened after he feels comfortable.” He then hesitates. “However… Peter also said that Zoey started acting strange the minute he saw Skylar so… we may get our culprit finally.”

I listen carefully to every word. After staying in Royal Pack for so long, Zoey didn’t have any progress nor did she remember a thing from that night. While I know logically that it isn’t her fault and that she had a head injury, it still made me frustrated with her. And now she may be starting to remember? I can’t help but resent Zoey for that.

“So let’s go together.” Aiden puts a hand on my shoulder. “You have no idea how much I want to see our son.” His tone is starting to sound less sickening now. I take a deep breath and lean into him. “We can get revenge in time. For now, let’s just make sure Sky will be alright.”

I close my eyes and sigh shakily. I know he’s right. I can’t just show up angry and wild. That won’t do us any good. If I calmly look at this, then everything comes together. It’s hard to remain calm especially with a hyped–up Naomi growling and pacing in my mind, but I can manage.

I take his hand and look up at my mate. “Yes… you’re right so let’s go.” Aiden smiles and kisses my forehead before we both take off together. We run

towards our son.

I slide to a stop as we reach the border of Royal Pack’s territory. I’m surprised to see Xander waiting for us. “Greetings. Lknew you wouldn’t stop to rest at any point.” He motions for me to follow. “You have my permission to enter my territory.” With that, he takes off,

Aiden and I look at each other for just a second before we take off after him. Xander was right when he assumed we wouldn’t take a break. Right now, I don’t feel exhausted at all. A mixture of excitement and nervousness gets me wide awake

I’ll be able to see my pup again! He must be so big now that he’s ten years old! But he’s also going to be badly hurt which scares me. How is Naomi going to react? How am I going to react? I have no idea.

Soon we make it to the center of the pack and see that everyone is wide awake and on guard. Xander looks over his pack members and they shatter
