All my fear and panic fade away when Ebony is by my side. I cling to her like my life depends on it. The longer I do, the more I find myself. Her voice is music to my ears especially when she calls me that name. I’m not Keith… my name is Skylar. It feels like the truth in my heart.

Her eyes widen and she stands up but I merely cower in fear. Who are these people?! “Sky?” She moves towards me and I picture Dahlia in her place. My growl stops her in her tracks and she frowns in confusion. All I can feel right now is fear.

“W–who are you?” I stammer out. I sound pathetic so I glare at them to seek threatening and strong. “Where am I? Why am I here? What do you want?!” I snarl to act big. “Go away! Leave me alone!” I hold myself tightly trying to stop myself from shaking.

The woman pales and looks heartbroken. As her hands tremble, she whispers in a trembling voice. “S–Skylar? You don’t… remember your mom…?” The sorrow on her face confuses me. What does she want exactly?

“Skylar? I don’t even…” I frown and try to think but I only feel agony run through my skull. “No… Keith… right…?” Why is this so confusing? No… I shake my head and snarl. “That’s not me! Just go away!” I cover my head and rock back and forth. Why must I be so weak? I hate myself for this! If Ebony saw me right now, I… wait.

I snap my head up making the two adults jump and look around. “W–where’s Ebony?” I glare at them and growl lowly. Where is she?! Where’s my Ebony?! “What do you do to Ebony?!” Rage rushes through me. Their dumb looks only make me angrier. Why aren’t they answering me?! Why do they look so stupid right now?!

“Answer me!!!” I roar and stand up clenching my fists. Power runs through my body carrying my voice even more. Jaden stirs in my mind but I ignore it right now. “If you people have laid your hands on Ebony…” The woman stares at me in stunned silence while the man is watching me closely as if I’m so interesting. Why do I feel even angrier?!

“S–Sky?” That sweet voice graces my ears and I look at the door. There stands the girl from my dreams with purple–hued hair and eyes. She’s panti she ran for her life. “Sky! It’s alright! Don’t be afraid! She rushes over to my side and hugs me tight. “These are good people! They’d never hurt e us so please… please calm down, Sky.”

I stand there frozen for a moment. Then I slowly hug her back and shake from exhaustion. “Ebony…” I set my head on her shoulder and breathe in her sweet scent. “You’re real… my Ebony… Jaden was right… heh…” I laugh faintly and close my eyes. “Sky… not Keith… ha… why does that sound right…?” Is it because she’s saying it?

I’m so focused on Ebony that I don’t hear a new voice until I hear, “We’d like to examine Skylar now that he’s awake so if you’ll please leave the room, that would be appreciated.”
