The Alpha's Unwanted Omega Mate novel Chapter 99

Chapter 99

Leah

As I sit next to the unconscious former Alpha, my anxiety gets stronger with each passing hour. Thanks to my wolf, he was out of danger and would recover. That’s not what I’m nervous about at all. I want to know why he did what he did for me. I want to hear it from him. Before I alert Xander to tell him he is awakeI needed answers,

During the Battle-

Getting an alert of a rogue attack gets me on edge. As a doctor, these things easier. What’s wrong?Tristian asks worriedly.

all I can

think of is my pack members getting injured. No amount of preparation makes

I came down here to give him his meal and leave yet I lingered here to chat. Something about Tristian calms me down when I should be on edge since he is one of the main factors in this war we’re in. Yet I can’t bring myself to hate his stupid but handsome face.

I’m sorry but I have to go! They’re attacking the pack while everyone is gone!I turn away knowing I’m needed up there. You’ll be safe here so don’t sweat it.I run off back up the stairs leaning Tristian behind.

Wait! Leah!Tristian calls after me in a panicked tone but I don’t look back. As his scent fades, I suddenly miss that strong oaky musk he gives off. I shake the thought away as I know my pack needs me. One prisoner isn’t worth any of their lives.

Chaos makes me wince and I’m shocked by the number of rogues in comparison to my pack members. We are very outnumbered and I can do nothing to help them battlewise. I was only trained as a healer so I’d only be a liability to everyone involved.

I take a deep breath and continue to run trying my best to stay out of the way and not to catch anyone’s attention. All I have to do is get back home. Olivia and Hazel should be there too giving me the help I desperately needed.

However, I don’t know how to hide my scent or presence that well at all. This becomes very clear minutes later when I’ve fallen onto my rump and I’m surrounded by four rabidlooking rogues. Their fur is matted and filthy and their teeth look rotten and yellow. I try not to gag at their scents but every time I make a move they growl and lunge at me.

I’m trapped and have no idea what to do to get out of this. The rogues know this too as they growl and yip to each other. What they say about me sickens me but also frightens me even more.

She’d make a perfect plaything! I call dibs on the first go around!,

No way! I knocked her down so I get this b*tch first!

You would break her, Don! Can’t you smell her?

s still untouched!

Ooha little virgin to ruinher mate would never want her then!

I shudder and hold myself tightly. We’ve all heard about what Trent and his large network of rogues do when they take over a pack. All the females are groomed into pleasing men and then passed around unless Trent himself wants one specific female to himself.

I don’t know how I’m going to get out of this and silently pray to the Moon Goddess as I had no other option. PleaseI beg of yous save me!I close my eyes tightly before a familiar musk fills my nose: oak mixed with pine.

I open my eyes as a sudden rush of brown fur rushes at one of the wolves and lets out a gasp. Tristian,..?I stammer out as he stands in front of me snarling at the wolves. How did he get out of the dungeon?

Get out of here!Tristian growls. I’ll hold them offgo!’ With that, the four rogues pounce and attack him. I let out a cry and rush backward to get out of the way but stay frozen in place..

Why? Why is Tristian protecting me? He has freedomhe should be running away or even joining in with the rogues. He shouldn’t be protecting someone he barely even knows!

Chapter 99

However, Tristian fights off the rogues with all his might not caring how much they’re tearing into him. One by one, the four surrender and run off farvni Tristian the last wolf standing. TTristianI stammer out and take a step forward. Before I can get any closer, he falls onto his side and doesn’t mov

I stumble other to his side and kneel by him. Tristian breathes rapidly paws stained with the roguesblood and many open wounds all over him. I’m f shellshocked by what just happened.

What happened?Luna Daisy asks from behind me. I didn’t hear her approach yet I don’t jump either. How did he get out? Did he join the fight with the rogues and get his ss kicked? The hatred in her tone makes me uncomfortable.

Nohe didn’t,I says and looks back at her. I was surrounded by rogues andTristian jumped in and protected me. It was four against one and he didn’t back down. No matter how much he got hurt, he didn’t back down until they surrendered and ran off.

Daisy stands with a stunned look but falls silent as I look back at Tristian. I place a gentle hand on his face and can’t help but be angry deep down Why?I murmur to him wanting him to answer more than anything. Why did you do that? Why did you protect me?

I close my eyes and shake with anger and sadness. My wolf Eden stirs in my mind sensing my emotions. Whyare you making me feel so confused? Who… are you to me?Tgrit my teeth and look back at Daisy. Pleasehelp me get him inside.”

Daisy stares at me dumbly and I know what she’s thinking. Why should she help the man who rejected and hurt her so badly? She doesn’t want anything to do with him I need this right now. Please, Daisy,I beg in a small whisper. I need to ask him why. I need to know

Daisy’s eyes soften. Of course. Tell me what to do.Excitement runs through me and I nod. I instruct her to get Tristian onto her back as carefully as possible then I walk her over to my house.

Olivia is standing outside and gasps seeing the state that Tristian is in. What happened? What’s he doing outside of the dungeon?I shake my head as ! can explain things later. I’ll need to tell the Alpha King what’s going on later on but right now, Tristian needs tended to before anything gets worse.

Place him onto the bed, please. Then I’ll take care of the rest.I tell Daisy and I help her get Tristian onto the bed safely. I’ve got this so you go and check on your pack. She hesitates and glares at Tristian. I’ll be fine. He did protect me after all. Now go on.I order making her growl then trot off.

I start cleaning his wounds and reach out to Eden. I need you to help his wolf. Do you have enough strength to dream walk right now?I ask her hoping that she can help with this mess.

My wolf is special which is why I knew I was destined to be a healer from a young age. She’s able to walk into the dreams of hurt wolves and tend to their wounds that way. It’s hard to know when Eden can use this ability as it’s gotten weaker over time. She told me a couple of years ago that she needed her mate to stay strong but no luck so far.
