Bennett replied cautiously from the other end of the receiver, "Ms. Lunsford's records are very clean, Mr. Hurrell.
"There's nothing that stands out. She was involved in an accident in her teens and was imprisoned for it, but I haven't found anything else on her for now."
Horatio narrowed his eyes. "Is that all you found?"
What Bennett shared was common knowledge that everyone knew. He just had the feeling that things weren't that simple, and his intuition had always been accurate.
"Keep looking further into her."
Horatio had the feeling that Natalie was definitely hiding something. He needed to get to the bottom of it.
"Understood. By the way, Mr. Hurrell, someone hacked into our system two days ago to look up information on Ms. Hurrell. However, they escaped when we tried to reverse track them." Bennett reported.
Horatio reprimanded sternly. "Can't you guys even handle a trivial matter like that? Immediately strengthen our firewall and retrieve all the access records. I want to know who's set their eyes on Star."
Some of the recent events were simply too strange.
"Understood, Mr. Hurrell!"
…
After returning home, Natalie felt quite irritated. She almost succeeded today, but Horatio had foiled her plans.
He was too wary of her.
The most efficient way was to do a maternity test using Estella's hair. However, Natalie hadn't gotten a single chance to retrieve any strand of hair.
What a headache. How should she approach Estella?
Still, Natalie dared not get her hopes too high. The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.
She pursed her lips. If she found no clues from Estella's end, she had no choice but to turn her focus back to the Lunsford family.
Natalie suddenly recalled that there was one more possible lead she had—Morris.
She whispered to herself, "Perhaps he knows something…"
It looked like she would have to find some time to meet with him.
At noon the next day, Natalie washed up and left the house.
Lennox had arranged to meet her at Avonswatch Restaurant to discuss the next step in her career.
Avonswatch Restaurant was located along the riverside. As such, it offered a bit of peace and quiet amid the hustle and bustle of the city. It was certainly rare to open a restaurant on such premium land in Jerrington.
It boasted a beautiful environment and was luxuriously decorated, so it was the first choice of many celebrities.
As Natalie shouldered her bag and walked into the restaurant, she suddenly heard a surprised exclamation from next to her.
"Nellie?"
A muscle twitched in Natalie's jaw at the sound of that voice. She hadn't checked her horoscope reading today, but it would probably have told her that today was not her day.
She knew who the other person was without even having to look. Nobody else had such a repulsive voice. She didn't feel like dealing with Hailey at all.
