The Billionaire's Regret: His Secret Wife Turned Medical Genius novel Chapter 119

Emily had just stepped out of the restroom when Vivian stepped in her way.

"Emily, my aunt said you and Gabriel are getting divorced. Is that true?" Vivian softly asked, but the arrogance in her tone was impossible to miss.

Emily didn't spare her a glance. She treated the question like background noise and started to walk away, but Vivian caught her wrist.

"Emily, don't go," Vivian said, her smile sheepish as she leaned into a more earnest pitch. "You're not good enough for Gabriel. Holding on will only make things harder for him. After all, you can't force feelings.

"Let him go, and let yourself go too. Isn't that better for everyone?"

Emily glanced down at the manicured nails pressing into her skin. Her eyes went cold, and she snapped her wrist free with a sharp flick. "Let go."

The flick sent Vivian stumbling back, and her eyes widened in shock for a moment before she feigned a look of hurt.

However, before she'd even finished her little gasp, she sagged toward Emily as if to grab for balance. It was a move just clumsy enough to drag Emily down with her.

But Emily saw it coming and stepped back in time.

Having missed her grip on Emily, Vivian's heel slipped on the polished floor, and she fell with a startled cry.

Immediately, heads turned at the thud.

Vivian ignored the pain and looked up, tears already gathering in her eyes. "Emily, why did you push me? I know you don't like me, but you can't treat me like this..." She sold her act with trembling lashes and a shaky voice, as if she were really hurt.

But Emily didn't even look at her. The whole thing simply felt like bad acting to her. She merely raised a hand and pointed to the security camera mounted on the ceiling at the end of the corridor. "The security cameras are probably high-definition."

Instantly, Vivian stopped crying. She turned to look where Emily pointed, and her face went pale at the sight of the camera.

Without sparing her another glance, Emily turned and left.

As the celebration came to a close, she walked through the hotel's glass doors and saw a black Bentley waiting at the curb.

There, Gabriel was leaning against the car door with a cigarette between his fingers.

Gabriel kept his eyes on the fading stream of cars.

With Holton Corp's power, he only needed to give the word to hit the Hamiltons hard.

But then what?

Emily would think it petty, and it would only push her even further away from him.

He had never wanted her submission.

"No need." The word left his teeth like a bite.

Gabriel opened the car door and got in. Then, he said, "Do one thing for me—move me into the unit next to Emily."

Roman blinked in confusion, but he didn't ask a single question. "Yes, Mr. Holton. I'll arrange for it right away."
