The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 484

Justin blurted out, “I know I was wrong, but I had no choice. My brother has always been my rival, and he’d stop at nothing to fight me for the family fortune. I... I never imagined things would go this far. I’ve lost everything now—I just beg you, please, ask Mr. Austin to spare the Olson family.”

Rebecca listened to Justin’s plea with a cool indifference in her eyes. Showing mercy to an enemy, after all, was nothing but cruelty to yourself.

“Mr. Olson, if you’d thought about the consequences, you wouldn’t be in this position,” she replied evenly. “You and your brother have to pay for what you’ve done. I’m not going to give you another chance. Don’t contact me again.”

With that, Rebecca ended the call.

She knew Justin had run out of options, but she felt no sympathy for him. He and his brother had brought this upon themselves; they would have to face the consequences of their own choices.

Just then, her phone rang again—this time, it was William.

His gentle voice came through the line. “Becky, I heard from Samuel about the kidnapping. Come by the hospital today and let me run a full check-up, just to be safe.”

“I’m fine, William. There’s really no need for a check-up,” Rebecca replied.

“Do you want Mom and Dad to worry?” William countered softly. “If they find out about the kidnapping, a full check-up will be the least of your problems.”

Rebecca was speechless for a moment. William had really grown up—he was actually threatening her now.

Oh well, she hadn’t seen William in a while anyway. Maybe it was a good excuse to visit.

“Alright, William, I’ll come by. But I’m telling you, I’m perfectly fine. Don’t worry yourself sick.”

William chuckled. “Just promise you’ll come. I’ll be waiting for you at the hospital.”

After hanging up, Rebecca changed clothes and headed out.

When she arrived at the hospital, she found William in his office, finishing up some paperwork. As soon as he saw her, he put his pen down. “Becky, you’re here.”

She walked over, rolling her eyes. “I told you, I’m fine. You really do worry too much.”
