The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 711

The hitman outside wasn't sure if the kid was Callum, but the moment Ronan called out "Callum," his doubts vanished.

He gripped his knife tightly. He'd been shadowing Ronan for over two weeks, and he rarely saw him with the kids. But now, he'd stumbled upon a golden opportunity. He quickly texted Samantha on Messenger: "It's time."

"How sure are you?" she replied.

"90% sure!"

Samantha knew that her time in Millstone was over, maybe for good. Even if this plan failed, she'd give Cordelia a taste of her wrath. She was no longer tied down, free to escape any legal consequences. She packed her bags and booked the first flight out to some undisclosed location.

Once she was airborne, she stirred up a media frenzy, sending out pictures of Grant partying with various women. It wouldn't take long for everyone to see Grant's true colors, and his reputation would take a nosedive. She was determined to ruin him financially.

She may have lost the first round, but she was hell-bent on winning the next.

The hitman walked into the clothing store.

"Good afternoon, sir! Looking for something special?" the cheerful sales associate greeted him.

Without a word, the hitman headed straight for Jayson and drove the knife into his back. Jayson fell silent, collapsing into a pool of his own blood. The killer hadn't even seen his face as he fled the scene, his first kill leaving him in a frenzy.

The two salesgirls screamed. Once they snapped out of it, one called the security guard downstairs, while the other dialed 911, and they both rushed to the fitting rooms.

"Mr. Evans... something terrible has happened to your son..." The sales associate frantically knocked on the fitting room door, thinking the father and son inside were oblivious.

Ronan had already pieced together what happened. He knew it was brutal, but Samantha had pushed him too far.
