The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 111

The whole press conference was in an uproar, every angry word pointed straight at Ella.

David watched with cold eyes. In his mind, she had it coming. Did she not get that this was a lion’s den? And still, she thought she could walk in here on her own.

“Shit,” Atlas muttered, ready to step forward and shield Ella.

But someone beat him to it. David moved first, pushing into the crowd.

Atlas just stared. Seriously? Where was David’s sense? Did he not see what was happening? Did he not know better?

But right then, the noise died. It was sudden and strange. David saw Ella in the middle of the chaos, her eyes shining clear as water. She didn’t say a word, just looked around calmly. But there was something in the way she stood, in the way she looked at people, that made everyone fall silent, one by one.

David stopped where he was. This was a side of Ella he’d never seen before.

Everyone else was just as surprised. No one understood how Ella could suddenly seem so unshakable, so strong that people actually felt nervous under her gaze.

Ella looked around, her eyes finally landing on Mike. “Did you really think I came here alone?”

Mike froze. “What are you talking about?”

Right then, Fiona’s voice cut through the silence. “There! That’s Mike!”

Everyone turned. A group of uniformed police officers walked in, heading straight for Mike. One of them held up a warrant. “Mike, you’re under arrest for extortion, kidnapping, and attempted rape.”

The sharp snap of handcuffs echoed in the room as they locked around Mike’s wrists.

The audience stared at the photo. You could hear people breathing, but no one spoke.

Ella kept going. “He just got out of prison and came after me again. First, he tried to blackmail me for a hundred million with this photo. Then, he knocked me out at a club and kidnapped me. After that, in a cave, he tried to rape me.”

She held up a small recorder, her eyes fixed on Mike. “I wore this the whole time. It recorded everything you did.”

Mike looked like he’d just been hit. He couldn’t believe Ella had been recording him the entire time.

How could she?

Ella stepped closer to Mike, her words for him, but her eyes found Rachel in the crowd. “I was the first person to hear you’d been released. You thought you were after me, but the truth is, I was waiting for you. Ten years in prison was not enough. This time, I’ll make sure you go back. And you’re not getting out again.”
