The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 119

Ella looked up at David and said, “It’s fine. I’m leaving tonight.”

She tried to slip her wrist out of his grasp, but his fingers tightened around her, making it impossible for her to move. He leaned in a little, his voice low. “You’re reporting to Central College tomorrow.”

She froze. “Why?”

“I’ve arranged for you to study at Central College. Everything’s set. You’ll be going there to learn medicine.”

Ella just stared at him, lost for words.

He was really sending her to Central College? To study medicine? Oh gosh, this was gonna come back and bite him in the ass someday.

“I’m not going,” she said flatly.

David’s handsome brow pinched. “Ella, Central College is one of the best schools. Not just anyone can get in. This is a rare chance. I know you stopped school when you were sixteen, so I’m giving you a shot at it again. You’re interested in medicine, right? If you work hard, you could be amazing, just like Jessa.”

Ella couldn’t even reply. He really didn’t think much of her.

Thank you for nothing, she thought.

But she swallowed it down and forced herself to nod. “Okay, I’ll go.”

With that, she yanked her hand free and walked out without looking back.

Ella headed to Grandma Chelsea’s room. The old lady was sitting at the edge of her bed, glasses perched on her nose, knitting something with careful hands.

“Grandma, why are you still up this late?” Ella walked over.

“You’re just in time. I’ve knitted a little vest for you. Try it on. I hope it fits.” Grandma Chelsea smiled, tying off the last bit of yarn before slipping the vest over Ella’s shoulders.

Felix, standing nearby, grinned. “Looks perfect on her, madam.”
