The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 173

The tinted windows let you see out, but nobody could see in from the outside.

Ella couldn’t see David, but she could feel his cool, watchful gaze on her and Atlas. It was like he was right there, even if she couldn’t spot him.

Why was he here, all of a sudden?

She turned to Atlas. “Atlas, it’s late. I should get back to my dorm.”

Atlas grinned. “Alright. I’ll come find you next time.”

He slid into his Ferrari, and with a burst of speed, the car disappeared down the street.

Ella stood there a moment, watching him go, then made her way out to the waiting Rolls-Royce.

She pulled open the back door and climbed in.

The car glided onto the road, smooth and silent. Inside, David’s hands were steady on the wheel, his fingers long and elegant. The city lights danced across the spotless glass, painting shadows across his sharp, handsome face. It looked like something out of an old black-and-white movie.

Ella broke the silence first. “Did you want something?”

David’s voice was deep, yet distant. “Are you really with Atlas now?”

Ella nodded. “Yeah.”

“You two aren’t right for each other.”

“Why not?”

“Do you honestly think the Moore family would ever accept you? They want someone from their own world, a perfect match. You’ll never get through their front door. To Atlas, you’re just a fling.”

He’d always looked down on her, and he probably didn’t even realize how much his words could sting.

“Then I’ll just be a fling.”

He stared at her. “What?”

Her lips lost color for a second, then bounced right back, soft and tempting. There was something about them that made him want to mess them up.

“If you break up with Atlas, I won’t…”

He didn’t finish. Ella leaned in, her body soft and warm, and kissed him lightly on the cheek.

David froze.

Ella’s lips brushed his skin again, her breath warm as she whispered, “Go ahead.”

David’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He smirked, almost taunting. “Does Atlas know that when you’re sleeping with him, you’re also sleeping with me?”

Ella looked him straight in the eyes. “This is the only time I’m staying with you. This pays you back, David. After tonight, don’t come looking for me.”

The light ahead turned red. David eased the car to a stop, his gaze shadowed and dark.

Ella’s soft hand slid up his shoulder as she leaned in and kissed his lips.
