The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 188

David and Jessa walked back into the Pearl Suite. David stood by the window, gazing out at the endless blue, lost in thought.

He barely noticed when Jessa slipped behind him, her body warm and soft as she pressed against his back. Her pale hands found his chest, teasing over the fabric of his shirt, her touch slow and deliberate.

He turned to face her. “What’s up?”

Jessa looked up at him, her eyes shining with affection. Alone with him at night, she could feel the tension in the air, the way it made her heart race. She bit her lip, then asked in a low, flirty voice, “David, have you ever been with a girl?”

He raised an eyebrow. “Why are you asking me that?”

Jessa knew all too well that she’d always been the only woman close to him. Then he’d spent three years in a coma, and by the time he woke up, there was Ella. Jessa was certain David had never touched Ella. But he was a young man, healthy and attractive. Didn’t he ever feel tempted? She’d tried to get closer to him more than once lately, but he had turned her down every single time.

She knew she had to hold back if she wanted him to marry her. But maybe just giving him a taste would make him want her even more.

Her hand slid over his chest, fingers tracing along the buttons. “David, let me take care of you.”

Her nails, painted a bold red, stood out against his crisp white shirt. David had showered and changed into his usual white button-down and dark pants, looking sharp as ever. The way her nails moved against his shirt was pure invitation.

Jessa rose up on her tiptoes, pressing a kiss to his jaw. Her other hand drifted down, fingers curling around his expensive leather belt. She started to unbuckle it, whispering, “I’ve never been with a man before, so I might be a little clumsy.”

David gently pushed her back, sending her tumbling onto the bed. The mattress was soft, and she bounced slightly before settling, her hair fanned out behind her.

He moved closer, kneeling beside her. His shadow fell across her, and for a moment, Jessa felt like her whole body had turned to liquid. She loved the way he could take control without even trying.

His face lowered toward hers, lips hovering just above her own. Jessa closed her eyes, waiting, heart pounding.

But the kiss never came. Instead, David just reached across her, grabbed his phone from the nightstand, and pulled away. “Don’t,” he said quietly. “I don’t need it.”

He started to walk away.

What were Ella and Atlas doing at this exact moment?

Was she using the same tricks on Atlas that she’d once used on him?

David’s eyes darkened as he looked down and typed out a message on his phone.

...

Next door, in the Diamond suite, Atlas was in the shower. Ella was just starting to relax when the doorbell rang.

Who could that be?

She opened the door to find a hotel staff member standing outside. “Good evening, ma’am. Your order has arrived.”
