Ella had never stood a chance against her.
David shot the guy a frosty look and said just one word. “Leave.”
He took off, practically tripping over his own feet.
David’s eyes dropped to Jessa. He pulled his arm out of her grip. “Jessa, are you done causing drama?”
Jessa stiffened. “You’re mad at me? If I hadn’t done this, you’d be in bed with Ella right now!”
David’s face stayed completely blank. “So you drugged yourself?”
Jessa was used to being spoiled by him. She stuck her chin out, all attitude. “Yeah, that’s right. David, if you even think about touching Ella, I’ll have someone else touch me.”
His expression darkened, like a storm was brewing. He turned and started to walk away.
He was really leaving.
He didn’t even try to comfort her.
David was the kind of guy who turned heads just by walking through a bar. Every girl watched him, wanting a piece of him.
Jessa wasn’t dumb. She knew Ella and all those other girls wanted David. She wasn’t about to give them a chance.
The moment he turned away, Jessa swallowed her pride and ran after him, wrapping her arms around his lean waist from behind. “David, please don’t go.”
He stopped.
Jessa clung to him tighter, pouting as she tried to win him over. “David, I’m sorry, okay? It’s just because I love you so much. I can’t stand the thought of you with anyone else.”
She pressed her cheek against his back. “David, I feel so dizzy.”
David was silent for a couple of seconds, then he turned around and swept her up in his arms.
Her soft body curled against his chest. People nearby couldn’t help but stare, jealousy in their eyes. Jessa wrapped her arms around his neck and flashed a triumphant little smile.
