The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 236

David glanced over at Monica.

Her hand rested on his, her fingers tracing the sharp lines of his knuckles. She brushed against the expensive watch on his wrist, cold and luxurious, just like him. He was the kind of man you wanted to touch, even though he seemed almost untouchable.

Monica’s cheeks turned pink, her sweet face glowing. “Mr. Harmon, about that night… I wanted it. It was my first time. Do you remember what happened between us?”

Cedric could tell things were getting weird, and he started to step in. “David—”

But the rich kid next to him held him back and whispered, “Mr. Grimm, looks like Mr. Harmon and the girl have something going on. Whoever he chooses, that’s your future sister-in-law.”

Cedric didn’t agree. For him, Jessa was the only one who deserved that spot.

David watched Monica, who looked shy and eager. Truthfully, he hadn’t thought about that night at all.

Everything he remembered was about him and Ella.

That night had been like a dream, hazy and electric, just him and Ella chasing pleasure together.

He remembered how she’d opened up to him, soft and obdient, making him feel pleasure so deep it left a mark.

But if he thought about it, the one who gave him that feeling wasn’t Ella. It was Monica, sitting right in front of him.

Monica bit her lip, eyes full of hope and nerves. “Mr. Harmon, I don’t care about titles. I just want to stay with you. Maybe tonight, we could…”

She was blushing, her meaning obvious.

David just watched her, silent.

That’s when Ella walked in and caught the scene. Monica was leaning in, voice low, obviously trying to tempt him, and David looked down at her, unreadable, but not exactly pushing her away. It was the kind of moment that looked like it could go anywhere.

So he really did bring Monica to the bar.

Ella’s red lips curled in a cold, mocking sneer. His taste hadn’t changed at all, from Jessa to Monica. He always went for the clingy type.

He didn’t look at her again, just picked up a fresh bottle and poured himself another drink.

Meanwhile, the bar manager hopped on stage. “Ladies and gentlemen, tonight at 1996 we have a special treat for you. A pole dance will be performed for everyone’s enjoyment!”

David barely glanced at the stage, not interested in whoever this performer was. But the guys around him started losing it. “Holy crap, where did she come from? Look at that body.”

One of them nudged him. “David, you have to see this.”

David finally lifted his eyes to the stage, slow and lazy. And then he saw her.

She wore a black slip dress, the thin straps sitting on her glowing shoulders. The dress hugged every curve, showing off her perfectly shaped waist.

But what really stood out were her legs. Long, smooth, wrapped in black stockings. The bold, smoldering outfit was nothing like her usual innocent look.

A thin veil covered her face, hiding her features, but her eyes were exposed—clear, dark, and full of fire as they swept across the crowd.
