The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 279

Ella leaned forward, her voice calm but firm. “When you study medicine, you have to be precise. Even the smallest mistake can go a long way.”

Mr. Lynch stood over her, but Ella sat tall and straight, her delicate back unyielding, her bright eyes steady and wise. She looked every bit the teacher, and for a second, it felt like he was the student.

He didn’t know what to say.

Was she actually lecturing him? Did she really think she was his teacher?

He only had one teacher, and that was Doctor E.

The whole thing was unreal. Mr. Lynch wanted to snap back at her, but Ella beat him to it. “That’s enough, Alberto. You can leave now.”

He froze.

She was using his first name again.

Just hearing her say “Alberto” threw him off completely. He turned and walked out, unable to come up with a single comeback.

Back in the principal’s office, Mr. Lynch was seething. No way. He couldn’t believe he’d made a mistake.

He pulled out the medical book, flipping through the pages until he landed on volume ten, page 4008. There it was, exactly as Ella said.

She hadn’t missed a single detail.

A second later, he let out a sharp breath. Ella was right. He’d actually gotten it wrong.

What just happened?

Just then, the councelor walked in. “Mr. Lynch, is everything alright?”

Mr. Lynch looked up, still dazed. “There’s this student who sleeps through every class, but the second she opens her eyes, she proves the instructor wrong. How does that even happen?”

The councelor looked thrilled. “Mr. Lynch, that student must be a genius!”

A genius?

Maybe it was time to meet him again, as someone new.

Ella nodded. “Okay.”

Later that night, in a plush booth at Club 1996, Cedric was practically bouncing in his seat. “David, is it true? The genius girl is finally going to show up?”

David sat in the middle of the sofa, dressed in black. Jessa was right next to him, Sarah on his other side.

Jessa watched Cedric with a frown. She knew he was obsessed with this so-called genius girl. He even talked about chasing after her.

One of the other rich kids laughed. “Mr. Grimm, are you really that into this genius girl?”

“After all his wild days, has finally met his match.”

Everyone was talking about the genius girl, and Jessa tried to hide her annoyance behind a smile. “Cedric, you’ve basically got a crush on someone you’ve never met. For all you know, she might not even be that pretty. I’ve heard that the smartest girls from top universities are usually pretty plain. That’s why no one dates them, so they just focus on their studies.”
